Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Ugric may (or may not) be a valid linguistic grouping. But that's linguistics. Language is not ethnicity. Ethnography counts the Ob-Ugric peoples among the Finns, not with the Magyar. Also, some linguistics reject Ugric as a valid linguistic grouping. Does that mean that the speakers ethnicity is invalid? These are two different things, and we have consensus on WP to only create ethnographic articles for demonstrable ethnic groups. — kwami (talk) 20:26, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do that again, and I will ask to have you blocked, or the page protected. Either way you won't be able to edit it. If you want to change consensus on WP, you need to engage in discussion. There were once dozens of articles on spurious ethnic groups on WP. It took quite some time for several of us to clean up the mess. — kwami (talk) 20:29, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, when the Ugric theory was first proposed by linguists, Hungarian nationalists were offended that they should be linked to the Ob-Ugric peoples. They certainly didn't see them as cousins. There was no ethnic identity there. Whether the Hanti and Mansi saw each other as first cousins, I don't know, but they don't constitute Ugric. — kwami (talk) 20:57, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The view of some Hungarian nationalists is irrelevant to the fact that Ugric is a valid ethnic grouping. Of course the Khanty and Mansi are closely related, and many do recognize this. The Hungarians and Szeklers have always been aware of their eastern cultural origins, non-European language, horse culture and links to the cultural practices of the steppe that set them apart from their more sedentary European neighbours. Their knowledge and traditions from their Magyar ancestors allude to this in various sources and customs, regardless of their lack of knowledge of the Khanty or Mansi peoples. 142.127.171.128 (talk) 21:09, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Warning II

Starting up your edit war on another page will still get you blocked. Knock it off. If you're unable to present arguments for your POV, then it obviously doesn't belong here. — kwami (talk) 12:17, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop your edit warring. Take it to the talk page. If you can't present arguments for your nonsense, then it does not belong there either. 142.127.171.128 (talk) 12:40, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
