[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Yevpatoria. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Rsk6400 (talk) 04:51, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure I understand, you're the one who made the initial revert, not me. You made more reverts than me, so in this case you should stop edit warring and leave the neutral point of view standing. If you desire showing a Ukrainian point of view, which is against the consensus on articles for Crimean cities, you can start that discussion in the talk page. Until then, the neutral point of view consensus will remain and your reverts will be rejected. 142.177.170.116 (talk) 06:39, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
According to WP:GS/RUSUKR, only extended confirmed users may "make edits related to the topic area" (i.e. topics related to the Russian-Ukrainian war). Rsk6400 (talk) 09:15, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There have been several edits since that sanction began that haven't been from extended confirmed users, and they have not been reverted. Furthermore, that sanction began months after the 2022 Russian invasion, and not in 2014 when the annexation of Crimea took place. While the sanction is "broad", Crimean cities aren't part of the war right now, and haven't been for 9 years. I feel like this sanction, since it was made in 2022, is meant to apply to articles about the current Russian invasion, not the events prior to it. Regardless, the consensus for Crimean cities is to be neutral and not mention ownership by Ukraine or Russia, only to later say that it is de jure Ukraine and de facto Russia. I've looked at your user page and it's clear you have deep sympathy for the Ukrainian people and so maybe that is why you're violating the consensus while editing this article. While I agree with you about Ukraine, I have always supported the Wikipedia consensus of using de facto control. In the case of Crimea, even this consensus doesn't apply and instead a separate, neutral consensus applies where neither Ukraine nor Russia are mentioned, only that it is Crimean. Since my edit isn't my opinion and just keeping the consensus (as can be seen in the Sevastopol article), I will reject your revert once again. Again, if you want to make it shown as Ukraine (which has been incorrect for 9 years), you can make your case in the talk page. 142.177.170.116 (talk) 03:26, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Inch, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. There is no need for any mm to inch conversion, let alone your ridiculous more-than-40 digits of precision. And user:Graham87 has already explained why we are using extra digits before the repeating digits. Don't restore your edit again without first getting consensus on the talk page. See WP:BRD Meters (talk) 02:54, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You're right that there shouldn't be an mm to inch conversion, I just saw that it was there and thought to make it exact as was the ratio of inch to mm. As for the repeating decimal, I didn't check the edit history before editing so I didn't even know that someone recently added that specific change. His reason is cool and all, but it's still incorrect. Maybe his screen reader software should support overlined numbers, it's not our problem to violate standard notation for faulty software. Not sure you'll agree with me but it isn't important so whatever, I'll leave it alone 142.177.170.116 (talk) 08:21, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
