Olivia Rodrigo Page

[edit]

Please help me with... Help me! I looked up Olivia Rodrigo while listening to Ari Melber's program on MSNBC. The story was about her work to promote COVID vaccines. The first page I saw on Wiki said she'd been shot to death by three assailants today. Your caption was the pro forma "this is about a person who recently died'. I checked a news feed to see why this hadn't been Melber's lead (if accurate) and by the time I came back 30 seconds later, Wiki had corrected the page. My question is three-fold: has Ms. Rodrigo been warned, ditto DC law enforcement and has the idiot who posted this story been punished. In today's climate, some anti-vaxxers might try to do her harm. I would hate to wake up to a real death notice. I hope you can see my signature, since I'm using a VPN. I am a donor, never an editor--although you banned me once for trying to edit something (I wasn't, just hit a wrong key maybe). I'm willing to be contacted by Wiki, but not the entire known universe. So no email here. Thanks.154.3.129.54 (talk) 23:50, 16 July 2021 (UTC) 154.3.129.54 (talk) 23:50, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism like that is, unfortunately, very common and happens all the time. If it was done by an IP, it's likely they've already been warned and/or blocked, but other than that there's little else we can realistically do. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Jéské Couriano 23:58, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, if you are concerned about Rodrigos' safety, you are more than free to contact emergency@wikimedia.org, who can contact the authorities if necessary. --I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 00:00, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
