Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Atomicity (database systems) into ACID. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:45, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deterministic finite automaton

Hi! Could you explain to me what is unclear in the lead sentences you tagged? Then, I'll try to improve them. - Jochen Burghardt (talk) 14:29, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thanks for your prompt response. The article doesn't explain what a 'unique computation' is. I'm not knowledgeable about computational theory, though, so this might be something readers are expected to know. Best of regards, 1 point 7 point 4 (talk) 14:40, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"English doesn't have accents"

[edit]

"English doesn't have accents"? Are you sure? Here are a thousand Google Scholar results that say otherwise. "Rôle" is correct English, whether or not you happen to be familiar with it. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:18, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Uses of "role" without the accent are nearly eight times more common. (Thank you for pointing out that rôle is a real word though, I never knew that before). 1 point 7 point 4 (talk) 08:44, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
