It's fast and free. (Note: Sometimes, due to vandalism, you may be temporarily unable to register). Applying an indefinite block to this IP is not appropriate, unless it is a soft block, because the IP address will later be reallocated to a different, unrelated, and unsuspecting user, thereby impairing access to Wikipedia in an inappropriate fashion. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking. The best approach is to determine the CIDR IP numerical address range and make a higher-level decision to soft-block the entire range. http://www.arin.net/ (for approximately North America) and related sites can help to identify that range. Caution is advised when applying a range block as other Wikipedians, both registered and otherwise, may be affected.
Review contributions carefully if blocking this IP address or reverting its contributions. If a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block using Template:Anonblock. Network administrators, to monitor this IP address for vandalism, can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format. |

Unblock: I have not used any promotional or advertising edits.
[edit]I am utterly frustrated. I like to use Wikipedia but see that the page of American School of The Hague where I work is completely out of date and incorrect. I have tried to update this on many occasions recently, particularly today, January 15 2021. I have not written anything promotional but simply need to add text for the sake of completion and edit incorrect text that third-parties must have entered a long time ago.
I have looked at other schools such as ours in The Netherlands and their content is exactly the type of content that I am trying to add. They have clearly not been blocked. I have tried messaging but I have been blocked for my password name, for edits and now all the work I did this afternoon has been completely undone. I could perhaps understand if you had a specific issue with a specific piece of content but I cannot see why all of my content updates and edits should have been undone. I find it very contrary to the policy and purpose of Wikipedia as I understand that information should be kept up to date, clean, non-promotional, cited and appropriate links used.
Unblock
[edit]In addition to my request to unblock above n January 15, I notice nw that you have even deleted sections on "Divisions" that I did not change, add to, delete or edit in any way. Please can you address this urgently.

- Wikipedia is not interested in what a school wants to say about itself, only in what independent reliable sources say about it. Primary sources are acceptable in some limited circumstances, but the article should mostly summarize what others say about the school on their own. You seem to have a conflict of interest with regards to the school, please review that policy.
- As for other schools, see other stuff exists. As this is a volunteer project where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate content to go undetected, even for years. We can only address what we know about, and as such other inappropriate content existing does not mean yours can too. If there is incorrect information in the article, we want to know what it is, but if you have a conflict of interest, you should not add information to the article directly; you may instead make formal edit requests, detailing changes you feel are needed. 331dot (talk) 10:54, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
