WP:ENGVAR

Hi - I'm Ineffablebookkeeper. I noticed on your recent edit of Kimono, you changed a number of spellings from their English variation to their American variation - I wanted to let you know of WP:ENGVAR, a policy handling this, in case you weren't aware.

The basic gist is that unless an article specifically requires a certain variation of English based on the article's subject, it's unnecessary to change spellings to a different version of English if the article already uses a consistent and established variety of English spelling.
