Queen of Pop

[edit]
Hi, Could you please explain your edits? Certainly, a honorific nickname can be applied to several musicians, not only Queen of Pop, but also Queen of Soul, King of Pop and so on. The difference with Madonna, there is several sources showing that she is "commonly", "often referred" (and similar words used) such as the Queen of Pop. Its usage dated from the 1980s to 2020s and its a reflection of the page description. Surely, the page itself advise there are others singers called Queen of Pop, in the honorific nicknames in popular music.
Back with JJ, beyond the exceptions of some sources mostly from the 1990s, now Janet Jackson and that nickname with her is pretty uncommon and appears in references of dubious qualities. Also considering that her appearance, in music projects and overall, have been much than lesser than other singers like Madonna, who attracts more coverage.
Sourcing of Madonna ranges from cultural institutions to music-industry sources, encyclopedias, scholarly articles and the list goes and goes. From independent media to mainstream media and newspaper of record. Something that its hard with JJ. After all, Wikipedia is about reliable sources, not our feelings and unsourced opinions. The artists that you mentioned in your edit summary, have been also called a Madonna (the Next Madonna, the New Madonna) in the international press. And the list once again goes and goes, from Rihanna to Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa. Or do you happen to know is something common with JJ? (the new Janet Jackson, the next Janet Jackson, maybe?) From this piece of perspective, you can see how linked is that nickname with Madonna with that treatment of newer pop singer.
