Response: It is not grammatically correct. Let’s look at Pittston Township for example: “Pittston Township is a township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States.” If you take out “Luzerne County” and “Pennsylvania,” it would read: “Pittston Township is a township in United States.” That is not grammatically correct.

You can also simplify it to just “Luzerne County, Pennsylvania” (because it is already understood that these areas are part of the United States). “United States” is simply redundant.

Adding the country is typical on geographic articles. If I removed Kazakhstan from the article about Akshimrau you'd have no idea where in the world it was. That's why we add the country. Please stop removing the country until you reach a consensus someplace to continue. You may wish to start a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline. Thank you.
