Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, 39.44.128.177. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Leysin American School, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). - I'll take a shot at that. These are a select few of the recent edits you've made as an IP and as a registered account, that removed sourced content, added unsourced content, added promotional content, and edit warred with other editors to restore said unacceptable content. - Ah I apologize again, I understand how this can be suspicious but I am editing on my phone and the wikipedia preview tends to not show what some aspects of a published article look like which is why you would notice I made many minor spelling and format adjustments in short intervals as well.
- As for me removing and adding sources content, I am following patterns from well-established wikipedia pages such as those of University of Oxford and of similar schools like Beau Soleil to refine the article just because I found that it was lacking some crucial information about its history, facilities, and academics that others had. The notable faculties tab is redundant as neither oxford nor any other community has it published and the faculty mentioned as simply two of the school's outdoor faculties, according to the school's website and articles I searched up to see if these were affiliated with any prestige such as the NATGEO society and whatnot, though I could not find anything that warranted a separate section. 39.44.128.177 (talk) 06:24, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- I believe my fault partially lies in that I did not cite my sources, but all information that I edited in is take directly from the LAS website, as you can check about the mountainside campuses and the LAS diploma you mentioned at [13].

- As for some sources of the content that I removed, I just incorporated into a more appropriate section to give immediate relevant information such as when I continually removed the designated Grand Hôtel section and instead incorporated it with the school's complete history with under the "History" section, similar to the other educational institutions.
- Same thing applies for the leisure tab. Everyone knows swiss boarding schools are luxurious, I simply meant to pinpoint why by incorporating all that information plus others relavant under "Facilities" to specify why.

- I again apologize for why this is such a long response, but to address your concerns highlighted at 16, 17, and 18: as I just started editing recently, I took other swiss boarding school articles as a guide to know what kind of edit would be appropriate as most of the information I found was not mentioned on the wiki page. All Beau soleil, Le rosey, and Auf Dem Rosenberg have phrasing like "It is among the most expensive schools in the world," on the Beau Soleil page, "It incorporates a rigorous multicultural and bicultural curriculum" found on the Le rosey academics tab,and the entirety of Auf dem Rosenberg wikipage seems to be personalised by their own faculty, so I just assumed it'd be okay to add how news articles view these schools in the page similar to the ones I mentioned above. 39.44.128.177 (talk) 06:44, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, you've received an answer which covers most of what I'd have said. I'll add that all your edits have been to that article or to your Talk page, and that you have been persistent in making the changes when other editors have reverted them. The school's website is a WP:PRIMARY source and not independent. Assuming good faith and that you are not connected with the school, I will post a Welcome here with some links about referencing etc - two of the sources you have added recently are not correctly formatted and appear as external links rather than references. Re other school articles - unfortunately not all articles are up to standard. I'll have a look at the ones you mention. - Neither am I tbh. I assure you that this is completely unintentional; I was making minor adjustments through a guest account as it was my first time editing an article because I noticed the alumni list was missing on the page, then made an account because it made it easier to connect with editors to troubleshoot and reset my password because my account randomly logged me out and apparently it is showing as three separate profiles. I will refrain from making further edits till I have this sorted, thanks for letting me know of the issue. I'll get back to you once I have this figured.
