June 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Butlerblog. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of right-wing terrorist attacks, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ButlerBlog (talk) 02:45, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The shooters manifesto clearly states that he is a leftist. He was politically motivated. The proof is his manifesto, and it has been cites on numerous articles. Your bio says you spend time "cleaning up" right wing pages. I think you are cleaning up "left wing pages" and just don't realize it. The last several attacks have been by leftists, yet I have trouble finding a wiki article for left-wing attacks.
The shooter was a leftist. We know this because his own manifesto says so, and it has been verified.
Listing the Buffalo shooter as a right-wing terrorist as akin to calling Benito Mussolini a right-winger then citing only books written in the last decade, ignoring simple facts like he was a lifelong liberal socialist, even after he founded Fascism. Wikipedia has a problem with reality. Part of that is people like you. 68.194.202.157 (talk) 10:08, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, your edit on the page was an edit to the actual title of a cited source[1]. You're welcome to argue the reliability or quality of the source, but changing a source's title is something you cannot do. As for the motivations of the shooter, you need a secondary source that states that, otherwise it's original research. The shooter's manifesto is a primary source. Please review WP:PRIMARY, specifically: Do not analyze, evaluate, interpret, or synthesize material found in a primary source yourself; instead, refer to reliable secondary sources that do so. If you want to include "leftist authoritarianism", then you need a reliable, secondary source that explicitly states that (see WP:SECONDARY). This falls under WP:NOR (no original research), but that's only one part of the content policy, so you should probably make sure you're familiar with WP:CCPOL.
Wikipedia has a problem with reality. Part of that is people like you. - that could be construed as a personal attack. I'd suggest that before you go much further, you spend some time reviewing the civility policy (WP:CIVIL), specifically WP:UNCIVIL. You may see other people being uncivil, but that doesn't make it OK. ButlerBlog (talk) 11:24, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Why would I need a secondary source to prove something that came directly from the primary source?
That is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard. The article fails to mention his own political idealogy,
instead characterizes him in the exact opposite. I am reading some articles on fascism and they are beyond insane.
It's like real sources and citations aren't even allowed.
You have problems with allowing a self-described leftist as a leftist, but have no problem with listing the attack
as "right wing". Clearly one of us lacks basic logic, and it's not me. 68.194.202.157 (talk) 18:22, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I am not "analyzing" anything. His manifesto clearly states that he is an "authoritarian LEFTIST". That is without bias, or interpretation. It's the SHOOTER'S OWN WORDS. So allowing the contrary is simply wrong on every level.
Anyone with values or code moderating this page would make the necessary changes that are supported by the shooter's manifesto.
You can alter a wiki article but you can't alter reality. Listing this shooter as "right wing" is what makes wiki a punchline.
And that's not an insult. It's a fact. 68.194.202.157 (talk) 18:32, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
