Battle of the Pelennor Fields[edit]
Hi, I am sure you meant well by deleting part of the lead section of Battle of the Pelennor Fields. However, the paragraph you decided to cut was a summary of an important part of the article, and since many readers only look at the lead, it was damaging. What we usually do here on Wikipedia is to write the article, citing it to reliable sources like newspapers (as in this case), and then to summarize what we have written in a short lead section. Cutting bits of the lead section breaks this structure.
It would also be helpful if you could add a short explanation in the "Edit summary" box when you make an edit to say what you did and why you did it. A straightforward deletion with no explanation looks much too much like an editor acting without thinking, or worse, so it's best avoided! Many thanks for your time, Chiswick Chap (talk) 03:48, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
