Clifton Suspension Bridge[edit]

Just before someone comes to beat you up for spamming again, can I please get my 2p worth in and say I think that's a very worthwhile addition to the article? I will be very embarrassed if there's some policy reason I shouldn't think that but I just saw it and thought it was terrific. Having said that I'm slightly unhappy about your link text which says "showing close-up scenes of construction" which I think has a slightly unfortunate double meaning. You mean it shows detail of how the bridge was constructed, but to a reader new to the topic it might sound like you mean scenes of it actually being built. Sure, you and I know this is not so, by many years, but I was wondering if you could perhaps please see your way to a reword which removes this ambiguity? I would do it myself if I could see a neat way but I'm stumped right now. Cheers DBaK (talk) 12:04, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

August 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Holland Park School has been reverted.
Your edit here to Holland Park School was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFFluu-1kN4) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Al Bowlly do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

December 2011[edit]

Hello, and welcome! I'm a bot created by another Wikipedia editor. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more of the external links you added to the page Attack on Pearl Harbor, because they did not seem to meet our definition of appropriate links. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before adding it again.
I did this because http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX4sTBJ0tvA is probably inappropriate for an encyclopedia. We generally try to avoid linking to external audio or video.

We appreciate your help in making Wikipedia better for everyone. If I made a mistake, feel free to undo my edit. If you have any questions, you can ask at the Help desk.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Army Apprentices School, Harrogate. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.
