October 2021[edit]

Please stop tagging articles about distant historic events with {{why}}. There are a lot of things in history that we don't quite know why: tagging it in a Wikipedia article is not going to help much... The purpose of the "why" tag is when there is something which is unclear (not "unknown"), and this can be fixed through regular editing. @RandomCanadian: I appreciate that some history is unknowable due to lack of sources. Nevertheless, there is surely discussion among historians as to why the crusaders massacred Jews in Germany. Even if the reason is debated, some suggestions must have been made, which should be mentioned in the article. I don’t know them myself, hence the tag is the best I can do.
