In particular, if you wish to open a debate about removing that stanza, please find reliable sources to demonstrate evidence that DID can form after age 9, and open a discussion session under Talk:Dissociative identity disorder. I'm on your side here regarding the change you want, but Wikipedia requires reliable sourcing from secondary sources; original research, or "I know this not to be true" is not sufficient.
