March 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Nick Levine. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Intelligent design movement seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Nick Levine (talk) 06:49, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nick Levine,
I am Tim Reiter, a certified science teacher. I have extensively researched the concept of, and evidence for (and against) the theory of intelligent design. I follow the scientific method, objective evidence, and logic. I edited the Intelligent Design Movement entry because it referred to Intelligent Design as
"neo-creationist religious campaign for broad social, academic and political change to promote and support the pseudoscientific idea of intelligent design... driven by a small group of proponents."
Your reply to me was the following: "...we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Intelligent design movement seemed less than neutral and has been removed."
The passage from the entry quoted above is certainly not neutral. The author of this definition of intelligent design is very biased, uninformed and inaccurate. I added no text, but deleted any misleading terms in the first paragraph only. I removed
"neo-creationist religious, pseudoscientific" and "...driven by a small group of proponents.".
As an informed reader, I know that none of those terms or phrases are accurate or neutral. My edits were appropriate, restored a semblance of neutrality to the first paragraph, and I stand by them.
Respectfully and Sincerely,
Mr. Timothy C. Reiter 96.74.205.35 (talk) 08:10, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Mr. Reiter, I have to inform you that you either abide by WP:PSCI or you'll be site banned. tgeorgescu (talk) 08:23, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To tgeorgescu: Is this Nick Levine? If not, please MYOB. I was very respectful.
Why do you resort to threats? 96.74.205.35 (talk) 08:37, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
About MYOB: what happens at Wikipedia is also my own business. Wikipedia is an Omnipticon, and everybody watches everybody else.
It was not a threat, it is a statement of fact from me, because I know very well the WP:RULES of Wikipedia and the consequences for violating these rules. The same as a lawyer knows very well the laws from their own country. tgeorgescu (talk) 09:08, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My reply was to Nick Levine. You are not Nick Levine. You are not a lawyer,
and WP is not a country. I tried to fix mistakes, but apparently if you cite
inaccuracies, its acceptable. I'm sorry you are afraid of ID (intelligent discussion)
and prefer bullying because you think you are superior. El Fin! 96.74.205.35 (talk) 09:44, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Having your POV not touted by Britannica is not a violation of human rights.
Having your POV not touted by Larousse is not a violation of human rights.
Having your POV not touted by Wikipedia is not a violation of human rights.
If your edit gets deleted because the Ivy League finds it is rubbish, it is not discrimination, and it is nothing personal.
Wikipedia is crowdsourced, while Britannica and Larousse aren't. That's the only difference. For the rest all three have the same ideals and values.

You are welcome to edit here, but you must do so within our guidelines, asking you to do that is not bullying. Slatersteven (talk) 15:52, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

You were violating our WP:RULES. Do you understand that? Even the Friedrichshof Commune had rules, why do people find strange that Wikipedia has rules?
Learning the above from me is the easy way. If you reject these and want to learn the hard way, be my guest.
And, yup, some purposes in life are simply put unattainable. We have to live with that. tgeorgescu (talk) 14:21, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
