Welcome

[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Akiva Quinn, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  IZAK 06:14, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Introduce yourself

[edit]

Hi Akiva, please take a few moments to introduce yourself and tell others on Wikipedia about a few of your special interests on your "user" page User:Akiva Quinn. Take care. IZAK 06:17, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Category for deletion

[edit]

Hi Akiva: I have nominated the category you recently created Category:Jewish Philosophers for deletion, see Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 June 17#Category:Jewish Philosophers for the reasons and further discussions. Please be MORE cautious when creating categories! As a new user you should first read Wikipedia:Categorization and get to know Wikipedia a little better. Thank you. IZAK 06:53, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Signing your name

[edit]

When you make comments on talk pages (which is very much encouraged!), please sign your name at the end by typing -~~~~. Doing this, rather than typing your name out, creates a link to your user page and your personal talk page, giving everyone easier access to both. Thanks! -Seth Mahoney 00:11, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback

[edit]

Thanks for the welcome message and feedback on new Wikipedia categories. I take the points you have made. I am also grateful for the tips on signing. I will keep reading and learn the Wikipedia etiquette so that I can make a useful contribution. I have created a user page with a few quick entries on my interests (more to come). Many thanks! -Akiva Quinn 11:49, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Dates.

[edit]

If a date is entered as [[22 June]] [[1999]] it will display as 22 June 1999 to you, but to other, depending on their preferences will display as either 22 June 1999 , June 22 1999 , 1999 June 22 or 1999-06-22. See Special:Preferences. See also [Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)]. Rich Farmbrough 08:58, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hello. I found your profile on WikiProject Philosophy. I'm looking for more perspectives to help resolve a debate in the Utilitarianism article on the difference between "Happiness" and the "Good". If you have any comments on the subject, please feel free to share them on the article's talk page. Thanks! --Malathion 8 July 2005 04:36 (UTC)

Hello again. I am writing to inform you that I have created Wikiproject Moral Philosophy and you are invited to join. We are in need of more editors, and your help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! --Malathion 08:21, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Jewish South African history

[edit]

Hi Akiva: Are you able to add to Jewish South African history? Thanks. IZAK 10:08, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your contact info

[edit]

Hi Akiva: Hope all is well. You have not enabled your Wikipedia Email feature in your "tool box" on the left hand side of your user page. Sometimes editors overlook that when it's a useful way of staying in touch with other editors. Best wishes. IZAK 12:38, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
