Let me expand on hat Tijfo098 means. On Wikipedia, you can't make legal threats against other users or against Wikipedia itself. You are, of course, welcome to pursue whatever legal action you believe is appropriate; you should know that Wikipedia is located in Florida, USA, and so isn't governed by local Indian laws. However, if you choose to do so, you cannot also simultaneously edit Wikipedia. So please don't make threats like that again. Thank you. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:25, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

People from India have said exactly the same as you in the past. Their threats have never amounted to anything and, in fact, a BJP-organised protest last year concerning the "map of India" issue resulted not in the arrest of anyone attending the WikiConference in India (including Jimbo Wales) but in the arrest of various protesters. So, not only is it the case that Indian law does not apply but in fact Indian law enforcement did the opposite of what those making demands had expected. Please withdraw your latest threat at User talk:Qwyrxian - it will achieve nothing. If you wish to pursue the matter further then feel free to do so but do not use Wikipedia as your soapbox: do it in your own time and jurisdiction, not here. - Sitush (talk) 22:53, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Akkiey, first, be sure to log in when you want to edit. As for your legal threat, let me say that I actually understand and have sympathy for your position. I understand why you think those maps are illegal. However, the problem is, the maps aren't being hosted in India, and they weren't uploaded by Indian nationals (for sure on the former, not sure on the latter). For example, if somebody in New Zealand made a book with these maps, you couldn't try to bring them to court in India because the maps are illegal there. Let me make an even broader example: different medicines and foods are illegal in different countries. In Saudi Arabia, for instance, alcohol is illegal. Do you think it would be okay for someone in Saudi Arabia to tell someone in India that they can't drink alcohol? No, of course not. The same thing is true for these maps. They are hosted on computers in the United States, and were put there, probably, by people from the US, UK, or other non-India countries. Do you think that India can tell non-Indians what to do? I don't think they can, and, probably, if you think about it, you don't think so either.

The important thing, though, is that you stop threatening people with lawsuits. Wikipedians take this matter very seriously, because even if your threat has no validity, it is intended as a way to coerce people to change how they edit. We don't allow people to make threats like this, because it makes it impossible to edit cooperatively. The end result is that, if you want, go ahead and go to your local police or the national Indian government and try to file a lawsuit against someone (I don't know if you intend to sue Wikipedia or one of the thousands of anonymous individuals who've worked on India-related articles). If you really feel you need to do that, go ahead--we don't want to stop you from exercising your rights as a citizen of India. But our rules say that you can't do both--you can't both edit Wikipedia and take legal action against Wikipedia or Wikipedia editors. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:25, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
