I am not sure why an edit filter has interpreted your attempts to post as personal attacks. However, it does look very much as though you are User:IslandInk. If so you should be aware that editing to promote your business is contrary to Wikipedia's polices, and is likely to lead to your being blocked if you continue. Whether or not an article "only stated facts" and whether or not it was written in the third person, promotion is not acceptable on Wikipedia. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:31, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- I understand what you are saying however what was written was not promotional. It was a verifiable autobiography and the admin had requested verifyable citations which are in abundance and which I tried to provide to the admin however someone banned my account while I was providing the response to the admin. While frowned upon, this is not against policies as far as I have read.AlSchulz (talk) 21:58, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- The issue of providing verifiable citations is completely separate from the issue of not editing to promote. If you got that impression from someone that lack of verifiable citations was the only problem then somehow the wrong impression was conveyed, and yes, promotional editing is against Wikipedia's policy. Finally, the article was written in a totally promotional manner. Even if everything stated in a piece of writing is verifiable fact, it can be written in a promotional tone. If you genuinely did not perceive that article as promotional then I can only assume that you are so closely involved with it that you are unable to stand back and see how it would look to a detached outsider. This is, in fact, one of the main reasons why Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages editing on a subject in which you have a personal involvement.
