ABOUT JHANSI

Jhansi Laxmi, a television and film artiste is well known to telugu audience.A versatile person who portrayed more than 600 characters in television and performed in 30 odd films.Her show talk of the town , ran successfully on Gemini television for a decade A very witty and spontaneous Jhansi transforms herself into any role. She speaks all 6 dialects of Telugu.

Also known for her interviewing skills, she has talked to various personalities on her shows.ATM, A show on etv showcases her interviewing skills. Her roles in films vary from serious to comedy. jayam manadera , family-circus, bhadra , tulasi, ashta chamma , simha, sira/ink are a few films to name. Not just entertainment she also emerges as a strong media activist with her firebrand show Naveena on TV9 (Friday, 5.30pm), which deals with gender sensitivity and CHETANA on tv9 (Thursday 5.30 pm, sunday 6.30pm), dealing with urban slums. Her show BLACK, is the first ever music reality show for the visually challenged. She is very compassionate and sensitive in hosting such shows.She is an active social worker, spreading awareness in the areas of HIV/aids, child marriage, and education, with organizations like LEPRAINDIA, UNICEF.She also has been a key person in establishing a voluntary organization WOMEN IN NETWORK, working in the urban slums of Hyderabad.She is the brand ambassador for SAHI , society to aid hearing impaired
