Out of curiosity[edit]

Hi Andreas,

out of curiosity, why did you change the summary value in {{esoteric}}? —Gennaro Prota•Talk 15:19, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I happened to be looking through its source and noticed the summary was somewhat badly formulated.

Ok, I'm not a native speaker, so that's very likely :) However the use of "can employ" instead of "employs" was intentional: often the template is used for code which is actually simple and doesn't employ any "esoteric" feature but suffers from unexpected browser bugs (often IE) and/or idiosyncrasies. In other words, for templates whose code is simple but may easily break. —Gennaro Prota•Talk 15:31, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just based the change on what it displays in the rendered text – that it "employs /.../ esoteric features", not that it can be esoteric. If you want to change it back, a better choice of words might be "may employ" instead of "can employ".

Yes, I thought that too. But your modification is absolutely ok and I won't change it back. The problem is actually using the template for code which is not exoteric. If we also change the rendered text (and maybe the template name too) then the summary could be changed as well. —Gennaro Prota•Talk 16:19, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spore[edit]

I saw your idea on the talk page of Spore. We've begun a vote on it, so I'd like you to post. Mrmoocow 03:45, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I'll have to side with the opposers after seeing their arguments (even if I might've started it, heh).
