John Lennon

When you were ploughing through Lenno's article back then, adding cites, you changed the identity of the issuer of the post killing statement from Yoko to Geffen Records. Another editor has changed it back to Yoko citing a couple of books. Another editor claims that the references to not back the edit and reverted it, which then resulted in a WP:LAME edit war. Beatnik - Beatles

My eyes are going funny, so I'll start this. I know I put a quote in about Allan Williams arranging a story with a national British newspaper (July 1960 - The Sunday People - a gutter rag) about how the Beatniks were "on the road to Hell". It was the first time that a photo of any Beatle had been seen in a national newspaper (even though Lennon was lying on the floor at the time.) Let It Be (song) Italics

The guidelines say that song titles are put in quotes, album titles in italics. Why are you putting both in italics in Let It Be (song)? It's a handy way for the reader to tell the difference between song titles that are also album titles (or even film titles, as is the case with 4 Beatle songs). Okay Andreasegde - my name is Lynne. I lived in Poole most of my life. My mother owned and operated the Varcoe Nursing Agency - and she provided caregivers for Mimi for the last few years of her life. I was one of them in my spare time. Mimi died when I was there - I was the only one there (not a pleasant experience, I have to say since she died on the toilet - akthough I did not tell anyone that at the time). Her last words were, in fact "Hello John". I went to the funeral and the reception afterwards. Yoko and Sean were there. Cynthia was there. Julian was NOT there. The other Beatles sent flowers. They played "Imagine" (just the tune) at the funeral. She was cremated at the crematorium on the Wimbourne Road (near Poole Grammar School). The reception was at the Harbour Heights Hotel by Sandbanks. My name was in the paper (Evening Echo - I believe it's now called the Daily Echo). And my name is on her death certificate since I was the only one there. Why should I have a page? - I am not - nor was I ever - a Beatles fan - I wasn't born until 1963!! Yoko paid for the nursing care. She arranged it through Michael Cadwallader - a cousin (?) of John's who lived in London. I have a letter from him thanking me. She had a different agency at night (sorry, I can't remember the name)- and Varcoe Nursing Agency during the day. I have a copy of the paper somewhere - it states how I was the one with Mimi when she died. I don't really care if stuff is put in the article or not - but I don't think the article should have untruths - such as Mimi's last words being about her being afraid to die. Mimi was not afraid of anything - and she certainly never expressed anything about being a wicked woman. I don't know where that resource came from (I'd like to know)- but it is obviously not correct - I was the only one there. Hope that helps. Thanks a lot, Lynne. The quote came from Cynthia Lennon's book "John". She said that Julia (Baird) told her that a nurse had said it. In all honesty I wouldn't expect Cynthia or Julia to be 100% reliable when talking about Mimi, as they both had 'axes to grind' with her (let's be really honest; they hated her guts...) I will take out the last words of Mimi from them both as being debatable. Thanks for the agency tips and Cadwallader name. I will look them up. The one thing I do have a problem with is that Mimi was in/on the toilet when she died (or collapsed, and later died?) Heck of a prize! <g> I don't think I can answer the pregnancy question. I've only ever seen it discussed in Cynthia's book, which I borrowed from the library last spring and don't have now. I can't remember if Dot only thought she was pregnant, or if she was pregnant and had a miscarriage, or what. If I find source material, I might add her to the McCartney article. As I recall, she was mentioned in the article at some point in the past but there was a feud about it and she was removed. McCartney's father knew she was pregnant and was very happy about it, apparently. That's why McCartney took out a marriage licence. (That has to be provable somewhere in Liverpool.) You've got to read this from Poole crematorium.

Poole Crematorium is once again opening its doors to local residents on Friday 30 September from 10am to 12 noon. This date has been chosen to coincide with the Macmillan Cancer Relief’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event and there will be a variety of refreshments on offer during the morning with all donations going direct to cancer charity.

If you add the "|Type=song" or "|Type=single" parameter to {{Extra musicsample}} template calls, the "Music sample" title bar will have the same background color as other titles in the infobox. Plus {{ and }}, of course. Note that I deleted the empty "|description=" parameter. That's just a personal style issue. I don't see any reason to add empty versions of rarely used parameters.
