What do you have in mind?

RE:Tokyo Mew Mew (manga)

Yume and me have been wondering what you have in mind for the above article. I do not think a seperate article can be justified, as I will use the release information in the list I am preparing; I am using List of RahXephon media as a reference (and hope to get the list featured when done). If you can give similar info (on the talk page, for now) I will appreciate it. After that we can make episode articles, and differences between the anime and manga should preferably go in there. Regards G.A.S 17:56, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

My reply is on Tokyo Mew Mew (manga)'s talk page. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 18:18, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

RE: "Sigh....this is officaly annoying me. Why are you talking here, when it would be more logical to talk to the person who made the article. sheesh."
Well, that is why I brought it under your attention, and merely answered the question on my talk page. Regards, G.A.S 19:29, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I wasnt talking to you. I was talking to Yume. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 15:45, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

It doesn't really matter whom are you talking to, because we work together.
May I at least remind you of the time when *you* had Internet problems and was complaining about not knowing what's going on? You were "annoyed and not happy", right?.. Same is with me now. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk

And yet I talked to you directly, and actually said I was not happy and had no clue what to do. Did you ever say that? I think not. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 15:57, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

My bad. But you usually do something without discissing anyway - that's the problem. If I complained to you, you would have probably just told me that you think TMM should be modelled after SM and so we need a new article. Remember how you removed the characters section - you just said "I'm removing this", not even giving me any time to react, and removed it. (And later ended up putting it back.) No discussion occured. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk

I am BOLD. Disscussing something takes too long, to the point where I made end up forgetting what I was going to do (like almost just now). " If I complained to you.." about what? It all depends what you complain about; some answers might be modeling after sailor moon, some not.

"Remember how you removed the characters section"

That was when i was still unsure about my internet problem. I was jsut about to some more, then that when I seriously could not use the internet. I already said my reason to removing it in the hidden comment ; it was too big and that why I didnt like it. and I'm certain I didnt later discuss this when my interet problems were solved because I forgot to. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 16:42, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

I agree with being bold, but sometimes you have to prepare stuff in a workpage rather than leaving work incomplete. At least then the articles are not as much affected. (IE first prepare the destination article in a workpage, then remove it, and add it. But I also think major changes (like new articles or removing large sections) should be discussed, or at least hinted at, as it may prevent duplication of work. Sincerely, G.A.S 17:03, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Episode list

Hi Angelofdeath275.

I require some information for the episode list I am working on, for the Japanese Manga. Can you provide this information? Sincerely G.A.S 19:08, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

On another note—the vision is that the differences between the manga and the anime can go into separate episode articles, but that cannot happen until such time as the list is complete. G.A.S 19:08, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm slightly confused: is that really going to be the episode list? With the printed media, video games and audio? THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 21:50, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I have something like List of RahXephon media in mind. G.A.S 22:17, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Characters

Character lists are only needed if the topic is a valid one. That means that it must conform to WP:FICT and WP:WAF. To do that, it would need development and reception information. MM is not a large enough game for that to happen. TTN 14:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Characters will not be listed. At most, it will have a paragraph describing them in general. The reason for this is that the plot section can cover them easily. TTN 14:29, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Do you have anything to say about it or are you just going to ignore this? TTN 19:21, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

This is getting complicated...

That person who is adding Ryou's age just won't leave this thing alone... Seems that we'll have to track down the original source of the boys' ages... the question is - how? SMU is not that reliable, considering they list Pudding as being 8 years old, when she is in the 6th grade... Geez, I hate Mia Ikumi for not providing enough info on the characters in the manga... just one page with characters' profiles would've been enough... Maybe other sources list additional info? (Fan books? Picture books? Who knows?..) 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 03:35, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Japanese names in main article

This edit refers:
Do you really think this is needed? This over complicates the article a bit, and is discouraged by WP:MOS-JP#Using Japanese in the article body, as it is provided in the individual articles. Sailor moon also does not list the Japanese text of the characters' names on the main article. Regards, G.A.S 17:43, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

This time I looked at Serial Experiments lain. I was thinking about adding it for weeks, but I was unsure if it would keep from getting better (B-class to GA class), but seeing that its FA class with a character section similr to TMM, I guess it doesnt matter as much as I though it would be. I'll think about more when I think I'm done editing to the main article. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 03:28, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

In the case of Serial Experiments Lain it is justified, since the characters do not have individual articles, and as such the manual of style requires the Japanese text and the Romaji. G.A.S 06:12, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

The Hell came back...

Now this person is arguing about "reborn" because the official fanbook says "ribbon" (in katakana). So the fact that it is spelled "reborn" throughout the entire manga (and in the Japanese Wikipedia), and is pronounced as "reborn" in the anime doesn't matter anymore? What do we have to do, e-mail Mia Ikumi and ask her what did they mean?!

...No, seriously... 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 00:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Zodiac signs in profiles

Someone changed the zodiac signs, and I reverted it.

On further research, I see that depending on the Calender used, there are three sets of dates for each sign. Is there an official source for the signs listed (I think episode 10 for Zukaro but the rest?), or should we rather just remove it? I have no time for an edit war about something this trivial. Regards, G.A.S 11:27, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Three sets of dates? ugh...it will be best to remove them. I was thinking the offical fan book would have the zodiac signs, but it already spelled Ichigo's attack wrong, I dont think it would be a good idea to use it as a source, and I believe in Japanese culture, zodiac signs dont matter as much as blood types. Just a guess though. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 17:55, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi

Well, I really needed some rest. -_-; But I am back now.

And I now have the first five volumes of the TMM manga. I don't know if I ever manage to get volumes 6-7 or A la Mode, but I guess it's better than nothing. At least I'll know what I'm writing about. ^_^; 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 07:42, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Notability is not a speedy criteria

Hi, regarding your speedy tag at Tempest (Orbital Frame), notability is not a speedy deletion criteria. There is a criteria (A7) when no notability is alleged, but since the article gives some reason (ZOE's first big boss), however ridiculous, I've changed the article to a proposed deletion. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 19:18, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Sigh...

I managed to get scans of that so-called "Tokyo Mew Mew Official Fanbook"...

...wasn't worth downloading...

Now that I know what it is, I'm not surprised that it spells the Mews' attacks with "ribbon"... It contains no useful info at all. That's it. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 01:38, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Basically, half of the fanbook consists entirely of the illustrated anime summaries (ep. 1-27). At the beginning there are several pages with colored pictures, then the characters' profiles. All stuff that was in the articles until you changed it was from there - differs a little from the profiles on the doll boxes. Between the two summaries sections there is a "studio report", then a short TMM comic drawn by Mia Ikumi for the fanbook, anime staff/cast interviews, glossary, and the only section I found interesting - official anime artworks aka character drafts - it shows the characters' height comparison. At the end there's info about the TMM character show, and a list of merchandise. 112 pages not counting the cover. Can be downloaded via BitTorrent.
Though there's an interview with Ikumi, there's no indication that she helped with this book (for it is a purely anime-based source).

What makes me wonder is how they managed to use "ribbon" throughout the entire book if it's still pronounced with the long "o" in the anime. Also, it doesn't even list the characters' ages aside from Ryou's (heh). 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk

Can't find these versions of the articles now, but I swear I've seen these "favorite foods" and other stuff from the fanbook here - I just remember such things were listed here once... Then we used the doll boxes as a source. But these profiles really look familiar...
Obviously, the book is published by Kodansha - whether the staff of the original TMM manga was involved is another question... 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 07:40, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Here's To You response

You're welcome. If you are still working on the manga Chimera Animas, is it possible for you to find those that were in A La Mode. I've been hearing rumors about a bird/reptile Chimera Anima in A La Mode. User talk:Rtkat3 (talk) 3:21, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Of course there is still some manga Chimera Animas (mostly any other zoo Chimera Animas we left out) not identified in other chapters or images of others (including what the Zenomoglin looks like or which plant). Who knows which Chimera Animas appeared in A La Mode! For all we know, most of them might be fusions of some. User:Rtkat3 (talk) 3:28, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Wow

I now have all of the TMM manga - will have fun translating it from Japanese...

In case of Sailor Moon, when I also got a chance to read the manga after watching the anime, I instantly liked the manga more than the anime. The manga version of Sailor Moon is much more violent and dark than the anime version, yet it has its own charm. You get to know more about the characters, and the stories contain ideas that weren't included in the anime version at all.

In case of Tokyo Mew Mew, I can't say for sure which version I like more. The anime is good when it comes to details unrelated to the main plot (i.e. characters by themselves), but...

Why did they feel like screwing up important parts of the story? All of those who make anime adaptations of any manga stories must follow a simple rule: "Before changing anything in the story, make sure it won't affect any events that happen after the one you're going to change."...

Pointless changing of the events or of the order in which events originally happened in the manga is all over the place in the anime version. I have no clue why this was done, seemingly just for the sake of changing something. Because some of these changes were apparently made just for fun (e.g. Ichigo turning into a cat when kissed by anything), and some just make no sense (almost everything related to "The Blue Trio").

Oh, yes. Remember, I was constantly complaining about how the anime version seemingly screwed up Deep Blue's story? Well, that one is much easier to explain than I originally thought, they simply changed some things from the very beginning and had to add some silly stuff later just so that the story would still make sense... But...

...why did the Blue Knight's story got screwed up is beyond my understanding. Was it so hard to just follow the manga story without making stupid mistakes?.. And I consider this one to be even worse, because they couldn't fix it in any way once it was made...

-_-;;; OK, I'm done with rambling about the story itself. What I was going to say is: if we need any kind of anime vs. manga comparison (for the main article, or for the characters' articles), I'm willing to help with it. Just ask... 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 18:31, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
