Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, AnomalyLen, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Multiple usernames

[edit]

Are you and AnomLen the same person? If so, please read and understand Wikipedia's policy about using multiple usernames. While there are legitimate reasons for doing this, your use of multiple names to edit the article about the company you appear to work at does not seem to fall under the legitimate guidelines. Hi there, I was locked out of the AnomLen account. AnomalyLen (talk) 15:49, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The AnomLen account is not blocked. If you've forgotten the password, there is a password recovery procedure. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:05, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Promotion

[edit]

Please do not use Wikipedia to promote your company or anything else. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:22, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

None of what I added is promotion. It is facts about the company for people to read about if they are researching. Everything I added is backed up with a source. Thank you. AnomalyLen (talk) 17:28, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Let's examine some of your sourced facts:
Anomaly is a "new model" agency is sourced to this article at Forbes, but that article never once mentions the term "new model", nor is this term defined either by the Forbes article or your own article. It is, in fact, just "marketing speak".
Anomaly is a response to the widespread recognition in the industry that “the models are all broken” and “the traditional solutions are all becoming less and less effective.” From the company’s inception, we realized intuitively that, in order to succeed, we needed to create something that was, literally, an “Anomaly” - a deviation from the norm. is copied verbatim from this source, a source clearly written by Anomaly themselves (hence, the use of first person pronouns).
The "Diversity of Recognition" section includes the statement Anomaly has been recognized for a very wide range of work and IP, covering both effectiveness and craft excellence. This is unsourced opinion; we should stick to factual presentation of the actual awards that have been won.
I find the "list of clients" excessive, but apparently this is the norm for articles about advertising agencies, so I suppose it should be allowed to stay.
Further, since you have an obvious conflict of interest with this subject, you should not be editing the article at all. Instead, you should only make edit requests at the article's talk page. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:20, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the Forbes article: I will update the edit to read that Anomaly is an agency "blurring the lines between advertising and business innovation while at once disrupting traditional notions of what an agency is". That is what it says in the Forbes article. Thank you.
To your other points, I will remove the line that you are claiming is copied verbatim and the first line of the diversity of recognition section. The awards listed should remain written as is as they are factual and I provided sources for each.
The list of clients is, as you said, the norm for every article about advertising agencies, and I provided sources for each client listed.
These updates are all factual. AnomalyLen (talk) 18:39, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The line between "fact" and promotion can be hard to see when talking about your own company, especially when your job is to create promotional material. That is why you are stongly discouraged from making any further edits to this article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:53, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. I will not make any further edits if it remains as it currently stands. AnomalyLen (talk) 18:53, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that if you are employed by this company, then Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure policy applies to you. A public and visible disclosure of your employment is required, preferably using the {{paid}} template on your userpage (User:AnomalyLen). Please make this disclosure before making any further edits to Wikipedia. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 01:00, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Information icon Hello, AnomalyLen, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Wikipatriot53 (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) Skywatcher68 (talk) 14:05, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
