Re:Disruptive editor on Carcano page[edit]

I've dropped a message on the IP's page in an attempt to guide them towards dealing with images properly, even though images such as the Carcano one don't need replacing. Hopefully we can get the IP to engage in dialogue or at least understand why their additions are being reverted. Its up to them how they proceed from here, though actual admin action isn't needed at this junction - though it will be if they blank anything again. For future reference for further incidents, WP:AN/I is the place to go. Also, the IP isn't claiming images are incorrectly formatted, that's just a tag added by our system to the edit summary identifying that an IP has added a bare url image into an article - its automated, activated when the system detects a fault with an edit. The IP hasn't made any actual explanation for the replacement of the images, but assuming good faith, they will from now. -- Sabre (talk) 23:09, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that. I apologize if I might have misunderstood the tag system. I'll take a look at the WP:AN/I and see if I can familiarize myself with it. And hopefully the IP will begin to cooperate with Wikipedia guildines. Thank you again, Antique Military Rifles (talk) 17:45, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've given the IP a warning, so they know there will be consequences to continuing edit warring while ignoring attempts to engage with them. I've also briefly semi-protected the page, so if they want to do anything with the article, they'll have to discuss it with others on the talk page first. I'll keep an eye on the IP, should they continue to ignore advice after protection has expired, I'll consider more direct action. -- Sabre (talk) 21:41, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
