[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Arcanecollective", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 10:46, 22 May 2013 (UTC) Welcome!
Hello, Arcanecollective, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Hello Arcanecollective: I am one of the creators of one of the first articles you edited. I hope you like your stay here, if you have any question or need any help, feel free to contact me or just simply place this template {{help me}} in this page before the question you want to ask. Welcome to the English Wikipedia, and happy editing. Miss Bono (zootalk) 18:10, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Your username
[edit]Hello there. Your username violates policy because it gives the impression that it represents the organization. The easiest solution is to abandon it and make a new one. You can go through putting in a change request, but that's more of a fuss. Cheers, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:00, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Hello Anna- this message was from 8 years ago and I am only seeing it now! I see I have been blocked because I didn’t add my name and just used my company name- not following the rules unknowingly. My sister just sent me info from a page that mentions my name with a wrong birthday, making me older than I am- who wants that! I was looking to change it and realized I had been blocked. I will try and change my name altogether. Arcanecollective (talk) 12:30, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
New Article
[edit]Hello again Arcanecollective:
After you change your username I think you might be interested in seeing this draft and collaborate in it if you want. I am working to get that article in the Main Space since the group hasn't yet an article of its own. Thanks in advance! Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:46, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- PS: I forgot to tell you this: the sources must be included in whatever information you add. Thanks again. Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:51, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 12:28, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
