Split article
[edit]Split - Article is over 300 kB, and should be split into 20 year increments. Thoughts? --Jax 0677 (talk) 22:34, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
- Split. Article is too long to navigate comfortably.— Carnivorous Bunny (talk) 17:38, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
- I honestly don't see why its too long to comfortably navigate, and even if I did, I'm not sure how one can effectively split up the article into equal increments given the platforms lengths vary according to the times in which they were written. For example, the earlier platforms are relatively short compared to those written later, and their length seemed to only increase with time. Also this was meant more as a "data dump" when I created it, so that they could be linked to from the Presidential Election articles for those looking for the full version, rather than the truncated versions often found there. Third Party Platforms were originally the main focus as those were not readily accessible compared to the Republican or Democratic platforms, but as I mulled it over, I decided for the sake of completeness to include all Platforms, whether they were readily accessible outside of Wikipeida or not. --Ariostos (talk) 21:59, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
- Perhaps the list could be split into different lists based on time period. Like 1828-1896, 1900-1948, and 1952-present. Another option is to have each entry have its own article, although that would be fairly time consuming. PointsofNoReturn (talk) 12:54, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
