Strat citations
Hey hey, awesome start. You formatted it correctly, to get the footnote and the reference appearing at the bottom. What you want to do is use a specific template for whatever reference you have. So if you are using a book, use {{cite book}}. If you click that link you can see what parameters are available. A few are required, and the rest you just fill in if you have them. So for your Chapman reference, it would look something like this:
{{cite book |last=Chapman |first=Harv |title= |year=2003 |pages=153 }}
The one thing missing is the title of the book - I think that is a required parameter. Make sense? And there is one of those for magazines {{cite journal}}, web sites {{cite web}}, etc. --Ars Scriptor 04:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- No, generally you say in your own words what the citation is claiming, and then cite the source. Sometimes there is a good reason for directly quoting, like if you are repeating something that was said, but not usually. So if you had a book that said, "Stevie Ray Vaughan's blazing blues solos made him one of the most influential players of the Stratocaster." you could say that in your own words like, "Stevie Ray Vaughan is considered an influential Stratocaster player because of his distinct blues playing style." and then give the citation. The idea is that you are still presenting the idea from the citation, but not directly copying it. --Ars Scriptor 15:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
My RfA
Oh, the humanity!
I had my doubts about a second RfA, but even I couldn't have predicted the way it caught fire and inexorably drifted to the ground in flames, causing quite a stir on its way down. Still, it was encouraging to see the level of support and confidence. Thank you for yours, and I hope my actions will make your decision easier the next time around. Editor Review
Hola Seadog, I'm currently up for Editor Review. I would be most appreciative if you could comment on my Wikipedia habits there and offer some advice. Thanks in advance. Sharkface217 02:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

quick note on the Strat list
re: Frank Zappa. Zappa didn't own very many guitars. He started out playing an SG(and loved it) but quickly added Les Pauls, a Yamaha SBG...etc. Saying he was primarily an SG user isn't exactly true.(maybe?...your call) He used a few Strats through the 70s and by the 80s his primary onstage guitar was a yellow Strat. It was highly modified including a Performance replacement neck and a Floyd Rose trem. The original pickups were replaced with DiMarzios and the electronics were modded to include a built-in EQ and a phase shifter. Here's a pic of it. Also, here's a link to a Zappa interview with Guitar Player Magazine from 1977[1] Perhaps you can pull a quote or some technical info from it. Keep up the great work. Cheers! thanks
Hi there, I'm sorry for not sending this earlier. Thanks for your well wishes. As I told Randfan, I still feel like crap sick, so my time on Wikipedia might be limited. Or not. This place is terribly addictive. I hope you're doing well, and that you don't catch the flu too. Thanks again. --Kyoko 15:07, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Re:Advice?
If you do consider running for adminship in January or February, let me know, because I would like to nominate you. I think you're a fantastic editor on Wikipedia, in all respects. Your only problem is that you have a block log, and that can be a reason to oppose in your future RfA. I mean, personally, I'd think you were fine for a January or February RfA, but maybe you should wait a little longer? I think people may see you used a sockpuppet vandal, and may think negatively, despite all that you have done on Wikipedia. Some people will oppose you based on the fact that it was less than 6 months ago that you were blocked, and may use that to discredit you. Also, in the coming months, expand on your policy discussion (to increase Wikipedia talk edits), participate in AfD's, and continue to edit to the mainspace. As Mike1 said, you are a "reformed vandal" and I think this is a big plus. You learned from your mistakes, which is fantastic. Thanks for the flattery, but I'm just doing my job. =) Nishkid64 21:40, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't know you were a vandal. It seems weird for you to be one to me... Any ways, I won't hold that against you (as having a false histoury as a vandal :)). By the way, why did you change your signature from Vivaldi (I think) to a normal font? I kind of liked it the old way... But it's your choice. Cheers and a preemptive Good Luck! —¡Randfan! 22:19, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I will never use it against you and that kinda stinks about the sig. Cheers! —¡Randfan! 22:26, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- By the way, did you see your vandal box today? —¡Randfan! 22:26, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Wow! That was bad (or maybe really good, since the purpose is to vandalize). I admire their work :)! Can you crack the code? H2Q -H] Ij *fF )Ex10
- Seadog, I think it can definitely be done. I don't know how long, but I'm sure if you apply 6 months after the whole situation occurred (so that should be around February-March?) and you explain what really happened, your RfA will succeed. Nishkid64 22:27, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

- Heh yeah, I saw that. It's a good nomination. Gray Porpoise will make a fine administrator, and so will you. =) Nishkid64 22:41, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- What is Porpoise's user name? I want to support him. —¡Randfan! 23:47, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
If Nish wants to nominate you, I trust his judgement. March sounds about right. I'd be willing to drop you a co-nom. Just make sure you get more deeply involved in Wikiprocess (XfDs, helping to clear backlogs etc) - I've noticed you on quite a few MfDs and AfDs lately, so that shouldn't be much of a problem. Not bad! riana_dzasta 14:28, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Very nice! No surprises that the Stevie Ray Vaughan entry has the most references ;) Seriously, excellent work, you've done well. I hope it reaches featured very soon! And it would be nice to see a featured star on an RfA nom once in a while :) Speaking of which, Portal:Chemistry is up for featured, too. riana_dzasta 14:33, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm going to the library tomorrow to hunt for references to put in my pet project, so I'll have a look for references for your list too (may as well, if I'm in the music section! ^^) riana_dzasta 14:39, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello! I am here to tell you that Llama Man is up for admin Nomination. I think I know how your going to vote but I didn't know if you knew he was put-up. Bye! —¡Randfan! 17:22, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: RFA?
Thanks for telling me that, I've changed my sig back. As for the llama article, I was testing to see if it could get restored, or automatically reverted, as I barely knew anything about Wikipedia then. —The Great Llamamoo? 20:49, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- What was wrong with his sig. And did you read what happened to Fredil it looks bad. Can we show him the Wikilove? —¡Randfan! 21:17, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, I noticed that, and replied to it. —The Great Llamamoo? 21:33, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

- ARGHHHH! It's still there but thaks for the "I-Am-Not-Here" Wishes, though really I'm going tomorrow. I was supposed to go today (in a few hours in fact) but I threw-up (I won't go into details) so I post-poned it until tomorrow. Sorry, for jumping at the RfA. —¡Randfan! 22:37, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: Question
I was definitely very nervous at first, but I'm currently doing much better than I thought I would and it has lessened. Of course, as you stated on the talk page, things could...change. —The Great Llamamoo? 00:57, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Seadog! I've reached 1000 edits! ^___^ Happy! Happy! But then again...File:Cry-tpvgames.gif My mainspace edits are poor, just over 300....wahh...but still! 1000! Sorry, I'm just so happy! Okay, I'll go now.--Kyo cat¿Qué tal?♥meow! 06:15, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Re: Question
I think that has something to do with the major edit glitch that's happening in certain namespaces. Somehow, when I formatted the last comment, that oppose got deleted. I restored it a bit before you left the message on my talk page. —The Great Llamamoo? 14:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I hope things do change. I've noticed that after the first oppose, every other vote was oppose, excluding a neutral. —The Great Llamamoo? 17:54, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Re:List of Stratocaster players
I'm not actually sure. It does say on top that the list will never be complete, and that may be a reason to not make it a FL. You can certainly add more references and try to add more to the list, but I'm still uncertain whether that is going to make it an FL. It's worth a shot, and if it does/does not succeed, your reputation will certainly benefit. Nishkid64 16:24, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Grats! Keep up the good work. =) Nishkid64 16:45, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, although it's basically the same page as last time with different images. I've wanted to add orange as a secondary color for the usepage for a while now. :) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 20:24, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
