Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Ray liversidge do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Your question
[edit]Hi, I have responded to your question at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page. Hope this helps, --BelovedFreak 19:13, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- You ask how your article differs from the Jordie Albiston and Jaya Savige articles. These may not be ideal articles, but at least:
- According to the article, Jordie Albiston was awarded the 1996 Mary Gilmore Award. And the article verifies this with a reference to the ASAL website.
- According to the article, Jaya Savige was awarded the 2006 Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry. And the article verifies this with a reference to an article in the Sydney Morning Herald.
- In contrast, so far as I can tell, your article does not indicate how Ray Liversidge may be notable, and its only reference is to a blog (which is not considered a reliable source). —teb728 t c 22:26, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Notability of Ray Liversidge
[edit]A tag has been placed on Ray Liversidge requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mjpresson (talk) 00:04, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
