Gevork Nazaryan article
[edit]Hi Arman,
I wanted to let you know that according to our policies, you are discouraging from editing articles about yourself, as noted in Wikipedia:Autobiography. As for your article, it's being deleted because it doesn't meet our notability guidelines and none of the information in the article establishes notability from reliable sources. AfD nomination of Gevork Nazaryan
[edit]I have nominated Gevork Nazaryan, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gevork Nazaryan. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Phil153 (talk) 03:38, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Dear Phil, thank you for the note, the only reason I edited it myself someone told me that the page needed more biography info. Can you please tell me if I can pass this information to someone who can post it. Perhaps yourself, since I cannot think of an active user now that I can pass this biographical note, once again I simply added recent information about me and my publications.
Thank you very much in advance, Respectfully, Gevork Nazaryan
- Hi Gevork,
- Thanks for your message. Since you nearly have a PhD you must be pretty smart, so I'll explain this again. Wikipedia has certain notability guidelines that have to be met before an article can be made. The basic rule is that someone must have been covered in multiple, reliable independent sources, before an article can be created on them. Other possible notability criteria are covered at WP:ACADEMIC A google news search of your name returns one hit, from the ucla college paper. This is not sufficient to meet our notability guidelines, which is why the article was deleted and the newly created one is being nominated to be deleted again. To save the article, you'd need to show coverage of yourself, as the subject of an article, in reliable indepedent sources, such as newspapers. Phil153 (talk) 04:16, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 10:54, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the note, I added two articles from newspapers on my lectures and books. I also can included information on the bazmavep journal which is not online as far as I know, but I can send scans of it if you provide me with e-mail. I can only send my diploma scans if you wish, the article of Daily Bruin also notes that I am a graduate student of UCLA. You can verify the information online at UCLA with my info of course. Kind regards, Gevork Nazaryan
