Race and ethnicity in the Nba

[edit]

Race and basketball in America are inextricably linked, of the four major sports leagues in the United states the NBA is the most predominantly black league. Most coaches try to cover this fact by having white players in their teams but only to warm up the benches for them and that's about it, that is of course if any one of them is extremely good then they will end up participating in games. There's a lot of dispute with this involving a saying with the white male population in the NBA "white men cant jump" but also "All black men can be successful in the NBA". According to The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport, the NBA was 74.3 percent black during the 2015-16 season and 81.7 percent were people of color. The study said that the NBA was 18.3 percent white last season, which was 5 percent less than the season before. The league was also a record 22.3 percent international last season. The NBA was founded in June 1946, with its first season played in 1946–47. Wataru Misaka debuted in 1947–48 as the first non-white player and the first player of Asian descent to play in the league. With the emergence of African-American players by the 1960s, the NBA game was stylistically being played faster and above the rim. Many of the league's great players were black. They believed everything was unaccommodated for them just because they are black but that wasn't the case. A crazy fact to this matter is that 12% of the United States population is black and nearly 80% of the NBA is Black. The thing about most basketball players is that you do need big hands to be able to play you need to be able to run and jump and dribble with ease and in African Americans most of these traits look with ease because of their genes and the way they grow, some just happen to be extremely athletic and or tall and really good at sports.Arturo0910 (talk) 01:39, 24 February 2020 (UTC) Arturo0910 (talk) 20:00, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you also placed the above text at Race and ethnicity in the NBA. However, it's entirely unsourced, and parts could be considered to be original research. Since you added your signature there also, perhaps you were intending to post at the talk page, Talk:Race and ethnicity in the NBA, instead? Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 04:43, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
