March 2014[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Huon (talk) 20:20, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand my username “User:Bghalayini/ASAP Systems” was recently deleted for violating the username policy and admit to the mistake. I am willing to change the username to one that is void of promotion and acceptable according the username policy. It will not include a company name, implied shared use, or be inappropriate in any way.

Decline reason:

Multiple requests - procedural decline. SQLQuery me! 06:39, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above.SQLQuery me! 04:46, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand my user page “User:Bghalayini/ASAP Systems” was recently deleted for having unambiguous advertising and admit to the mistake. Also, I am aware that my account has been blocked because it appears to be used on behalf of a company for purposes of promotion or publicity and my username is a violation of the username policy. Please know that I understand my mistakes and wish to correct them. With regards to the user page: I will fundamentally rewrite the entire page to remove all material that appears to be promotional. Henceforth, the user page will be written in a neutral point of view according to the NPOV policy and following the NPOV tutorial. I was in the process of learning how to edit this page and remove the outdated content and promotional language when the account was blocked. The editing log on the user page should show that the page has not been edited in over a year, hence why I chose to research how to edit it. I propose to write from a neutral point of view for encyclopedic purposes. At a later date, I wish to write an article about a topic by establishing importance and notability through reputable sources without promotional language, and by following the editing protocol set forth by Wikipedia. I would be willing to answer any further questions regarding how I will be abiding by the guidelines in the future.

Decline reason:

Since the username issue is salient I have declined this one procedurally and left the one that does address that open. — Daniel Case (talk) 23:06, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

My username “User:Bghalayini/ASAP Systems” was recently deleted for violating the username policy and it appears that my proposed new name was declined too. I now understand the salience of this issue and I would like to propose this new username, which has no affiliation to a company or group in any way. The name is void of promotion and is intended to be used to create an encyclopedic article, with notable value, in the future.

Decline reason:

Your user account at User:Bghalayini is not blocked or deleted. Your draft article at User:Bghalayini/ASAP Systems was deleted due to unambiguous promotional content. Rather than unblock this account to register a third one, please go back to using your initial account at User:Bghalayini. Please also refrain from using the encyclopedia to promote your company.
