TheosEra

[edit]

A tag has been placed on TheosEra, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

You may want to read the guidelines at Wikipedia:Notability (web). -- Fan-1967 20:16, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is not necessary to blank the page. If you are not contesting the deletion, simply do nothing. Fan-1967 20:21, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Hangzhou has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \babsolutechinatours\.com\b (links: http://www.absolutechinatours.com/china-travel-guide/hangzhou/hangzhou-history.html).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 02:48, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Ckatzchatspy 03:44, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy because your account is being used only for spam, advertising, or promotion. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below. Ckatzchatspy 04:07, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

This block is unfair. I have been adding links to valuable and unique articles. Where else can you find a travel guide to Turpan? What about my add of TheosEra? It's a new age community, why wouldn't it belong to the new age communities article? Instead of banning immediately, we should discuss it. Give me one reason why those 2 links are not worth being on Wikipedia.

Decline reason:

Neither of those links meets the requirements at the external links guidelines. So far, your only edits have been to add inappropriate links to the encyclopedia, and you have not made any edits which improve the content of the encyclopedia. Your request doesn't indicate that you are interested in making more useful edits in the future, so I can't justify unblocking you. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 11:03, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Comment With respect to the account, it has only been used to add external links. While there are only a handful of edits, the account added links to the same site (absolutechinatours), at or around the same time, as a series of other single-purpose accounts spamming that site. If there are concerns, I would suggest a checkuser search. --Ckatzchatspy 06:08, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have been a member since 2006. This block is totally unfair. I tried adding links to unique content, I hardly call this spamming. I do not know about other users in my company (this company has over 1000 employees. Like I asked previously, why were my 2 links about the city of Turpan and New Age Communities removed? I do not own these websites. I try to promote what I find useful and unique. What was the real reason behind the removal of those 2 links? How is it advertising if I am not selling anything? It's unique content that provides useful resources to the end-user. --Avatar332211chat
Yes, you have been a member since December 2006. However, in that time, you have only made eight edits to articles. Five of those edits were in 2006, when you:
  • added an external link for the online dating community "therosera.com" to the article Meaning of Life;
  • created, modified, and then blanked a page about TheosEra. Those three edits occurred over the space of about six minutes; you created the article, modified it, then blanked the page after an editor added a "speedy delete" tag over concerns of notability.
There are no other edits through your account until early April 2009, when you reappeared and added one link to "theosera" (the same site as before) and two links to "absolutechinatours.com", a site that had seen a sudden surge in spammed links from low-activity single-purpose accounts around the same time. Wikipedia encourages users to assume good faith on the part of contributors, but you have to admit that the circumstances I've outlined are cause for concern. However, you certainly do have the option (as exercised above) of having the block reviewed by another editor. --Ckatzchatspy 08:45, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ckatz, thanks for outlining my wiki-biography, but like you said it yourself, it is 'cause for concern' (which I can explain), not cause for immediate life ban! There is a major difference here. However, I do not know why you are running away from my questions? Tell me exactly why were my changes violating Wikipedia Guidelines? I have been a Wikipedia observer for many years and I know all the guidelines. I have the right to a fair trial right? I don't think applying such a cruel sentence without a trial is fair. I repeat my 2 simple questions, I hope you (or any admin) will take time to answer them, in the name of Freedom (that Wikipedia stands by so firmly):
  • Why was my addition of TheosEra reversed? (It is a 3.5 years old Non-Profit New Age Community based in Canada with thousands of members worldwide, just like the other communities referenced in the External Links section of the article 'New Age Communities')
  • Why was my addition of Turpan Travel Guide (An informative guide to anyone who wants to visit the Northern city of Turpan) reversed? Other chinese cities on Wikipedia have links to EXTERNAL travel guides, for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhouzhuang (look at the bottom links section). So why remove it for city of Turpan?
Thanks for your answers. --Avatar332211chatspy 19:27, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
