Odd sentence

Does this sentence make any sense? "The fact that some people believe that the law should be different that (than?) what courts have said it is (comma here?) doesn’t mean that the law is different from what the courts have said (I had to read this three times to understand what the heck it was saying), but only that they should argue their positions within the political system and attempt to change the results."

I think I understand what he's saying but this sure is a terrible sentence. Not sure if we should add a {{sic}} tag or what. We may want to paraphrase this one into our own words. Morphh ^(talk) 18:35, 01 February 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I think I understand, the top part is just a reference and the second is what is to be included - correct... I was going to say it would be better if we worded this mostly ourselves. Morphh ^(talk) 18:37, 01 February 2008 (UTC)

Regarding the "different that" verbiage, yeah, I think it's just a typo on the part of Daniel Evans, the author. I think you're right about the need for a "sic" tag. Famspear (talk) 18:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
