User talk:Carmen K
Hello Osarius, we have requested an updated user name to ensure that our account won't be deleted.
Osarius, I requested a change of user name to comply with wikipedia guidelines. Could you please update me what's the status of my article now?
If deletion is still inevitable please let me know so that I can start the article from scratch. Thanks for your feedback. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BINDER (Company) (talk • contribs) 06:27, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, let me just explain a few things here. First, your username was against our username policy because it looked like it represented a company, so you requested a change which has now occurred. You've just stated that "we have requested an updated user name to ensure that our account won't be deleted". This is still against our username policy (the specific section is here), because we do not allow shared accounts under any circumstances. One more thing, the article you created was also against Wikipedia policy because it was considered blatant advertising (see this section of the policy), and also violated our conflict of interest policy. As a result the article was tagged for speedy deletion by myself, and eventually deleted by a Wikipedia admin. You can ask for it to be undeleted and moved to your user-space (a process called userfication), but because the article violated two policies I doubt it would be granted. You MUST NOT recreate the article otherwise your account will be blocked from editing Wikipedia, but because you've just stated that this account may/will be used by more than one person, this account may be blocked anyway. I hope I have made this clear for you, otherwise don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page, and remember to sign your posts using the four tildes (~~~~). [edit]Hello, BINDER (Company). We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article BINDER (Company), you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Osarius Talk 10:25, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "BINDER (Company)", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website. Please note that Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or shared by multiple people. Please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Osarius Talk 10:26, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of BINDER (Company)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on BINDER (Company), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Osarius Talk 10:28, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
