October 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm FlightTime Phone. Please refrain from changing genres as you did to the page Leave (Get Out) but you didn't provide a reliable source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. It has been removed and archived in the page history for now.

Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive.

Thank you. - FlightTime Phone (open channel) 08:45, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to change genres without discussion or sources, as you did at The High Road (album), you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime Phone (open channel) 08:46, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you change genres in pages without discussion or sources, as you did at Glamorous (Fergie song). - FlightTime Phone (open channel) 08:51, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

October 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Glamorous (Fergie song). Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   Swarm  talk  05:38, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Promise to NOT edit war again

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 14:24, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I think the title explains it enough, I promise this time around I won't get into an edit war with anyone on Wikipedia if I get the chance to be unblocked. BadboyOli (talk) 14:14, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Yamla: in aroundabout way I did explain that. BadboyOli (talk) 14:39, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Great. So request another unblock and a different administrator will review your request. Note that you have no chance of being unblocked, in my opinion, without specifically addressing the reason for your block, but hey, it's up to you. --Yamla (talk) 14:52, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Accept reason:

Pursuant to your below statement, I've unblocked you. Thanks,  Swarm  talk  22:17, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • So, just to clarify, you plan to completely disengage from the editing of genres because you wish to contribute to the project in other ways?  Swarm  talk  19:21, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Swarm: yes. BadboyOli (talk) 21:31, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
