empty articles

[edit]

Some articles that you created such as Ruddy Mongoose, Liberian Mongoose, Liberian Mongoose, Collared Mongoose, Indian Gray Mongoose among others are empty or nealy so. While they are eligiable for speedy deletion (A3 - No content whatsoever), I am holding off for now assuming that you intend to expand them. Jon513 18:03, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please label stubs about Mongooses with {{carnivora-stub}}, not with {{mammal-stub}}, which is more specific. 128.139.226.37 09:24, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. An article you recently created, Rehorst Vodka, has been tagged for speedy deletion because its content is clearly written to promote a company, product, or service. This article may have been deleted by the time you see this message. Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not an advertising service. Thank you. Calton | Talk 23:57, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see how the page I created differs significantly from, say, the Tito's Vodka page.

1) WP:INN.
2) Tito's Vodka claims, at least, to have won some award.
3) You think I approve of the Tito's Vodka article why, exactly?

--Calton | Talk 00:06, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't claim you approve of the Tito's Vodka article, but someone obviously does, since it's still here.
Which doesn't explain its relevance here. Of course, you immediately contradict yourself with your next question ("You think something is worthy of a Wikipedia article only if it's won an award?"), which only makes the slightest bit of sense if you think-- as is pretty obvious from the original bit I quoted and the tone of this question -- that I do. And once again, WP:INN.
Again, I don't think I included anything excessively praising, or indeed anything praising at all, so it's hard for me to see how you'd construe it as advertizing.
Publicity for local and unremarkable product.
I suspect it's the clause about the founder enjoying his vodka in a dry martini that you're objecting to; if so, I wish you'd come out and say it.
Mindreading is not your strong suit. Try something different. --Calton | Talk 00:20, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't using the existence of Tito's--an American vodka--to suggest that Rehorst--another American vodka--merits inclusion. I was comparing the relative informational content of the two articles, which I think are similar.
Ah, of course. And the point of making that comparison was -- what, exactly? Just making small talk?
Again, Rehorst has only been around for two months and as such it is nearly impossible to have earned any awards
Bzzt. Brand-new product, has made no waves. Sounds like promotion to me.
The simple fact that a premium vodka is being produced in a city famous for its beer production seemed notable enough to me to warrant an article.
That is such a non-sequitor it's hard to figure out how to respond to it. "The simple fact that a premium bratwurst is being produced in a city famous for its cheese production seemed notable enough to me to warrant an article." "The simple fact that a premium herbal tea is being produced in a city famous for its pharmaceutical production seemed notable enough to me to warrant an article." Something like that. --Calton | Talk 01:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article linked provides support for my linking of the two industries (craft distilling and craft brewing). A local newspaper article? Very convincing demonstration of the worldwide impact of a brand-new product. And "craft brewing" and Milwaukee? Please.
FYI, it's "non sequitur"; correct spelling will certainly contribute to the air of imperiousness you're trying so hard to cultivate.
Ah, ragging on typos. Beats commenting on the actual merits -- or lack thereof -- of your case. --Calton | Talk 01:40, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Prod warning

[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Collared Mongoose, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Collared Mongoose. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Central American Lancehead, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Central American Lancehead is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Central American Lancehead, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 18:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Battlekow! I was attempting to delete this redirect because it's capitalized and wasn't being used. There already a lower-case version in place. (PS -- Please answer here, as I've temporarily added your talk page to my watchlist). --Jwinius (talk) 19:39, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
