Isle of Man
[edit]Hi Beachlander, fastyr mie.
Your edits to Economy of the Isle of Man were obviously not "a test" and I have added them back in.
However I did previously make the comment that some of your edits to Isle of Man looked like self-promotion, having been partly taken from the (recently renamed) Department for Enterprise website, which is largely a promotional website. Do you have any comments on this suggestion --- for example do you have any relevant connection with the island? ----Ehrenkater (talk) 16:46, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Fastyr-mie Ehrenkater,
Thx for your fair questions ;-) Enjoying living on the Isle of Man since a few years, hence my interest. Working in the private tech sector, not for government. Glad to observe we get (slowly) a few more techies and startups here. Still a rocky road. And yes, quite a few critical aspects need to be added as well like for example the youth leaving the island, still falling property prices, the Paradise Papers etc. Will take some while to update all this and hope others will contribute as well.
Best regards and gura mie ayd! Beachlander (talk) 22:17, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- Regarding the comment above in reply to Ehrenkater, I can see from a very cursory look at your recent worklist that these edits do not appear to be those of a newbie - have you edited Wikipedia previously, either using another username or under IP addresses?--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 17:21, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
Thank you Rocknrollmancer, Yes, I tried out Wikipedia probably a decade ago, more to learn rather than making any contribution I have to confess. Don't know from which account. Writing itself seems to be easy when you are used to write scientific or technical articles. But the challenge remains to understand and adapt to the Wikipedia encyclopedic style guidelines. Beachlander (talk) 21:18, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
In view of a lack of response the query immediately above concerning any previous editing using other names, and your recent edit dated 12 January mentioning "Dr Richard Arning from SES Satellites", please read and familiarise your self with WP:COI, which basically states "Do not edit Wikipedia in your own interests or in the interests of your external relationships.". You have aroused the interest of three established editors; your worklist crosses over with that of ShellsSes, which is similar to the ownership name of SES Satellites (their worklist), and both appear to be a WP:single purpose accounts. Other topics relating to business articles are wp:promotion and wp:soapboxing. Thank you.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 03:59, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you Rocknrollmancer for those guidelines, Sorry for my tardy response after a longer break. Still on a learning journey w.r.t. the Wikipedia guidelines. Will digest and respect that. Best regards! Beachlander Beachlander (talk) 21:16, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
