Silent Hill

[edit]

I really wish you would have brought another GA nom up on the talk page before going ahead and doing it. I think that the Plot section is still too long, and if it fails now, we'll have to wait some time before re-submitting. --InShaneee 22:07, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Probably should have, I apologize. Please, next time, post if you think the plot is too long or have any other concerns. The CGI got handled quickly -- but maybe I was too quick on the draw. If so, I do apologize. If it fails, we should have plenty of time to improve then before resubmitting. --Beanssnaeb 22:21, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To give you a heads up, I responded to your comment on the talk page for Driver, since I don't know if you watch the article. Feel free to contest my points. --Erik (talk/contrib) @ 23:42, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this is just a polite message to inform you that I merged your DVD release addition into a general release section. If this is a problem, let me know. —Viriditas | Talk 04:59, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem at all. --Beanssnaeb 05:14, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I neglected to commend you on your composition skills. You're a good writer, and we could use more of your expertise. User:Yllosubmarine has requested a cast section, and there's a temporary page setup at Talk:Children of Men/Temp if you have any ideas. I hope to see more of your work in the article. —Viriditas | Talk 06:51, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The cast section looks good. It would look great right below the plot section. Please add it. The temp page is just a sandbox; You don't need anyone's approval. And if you don't think the release section headings work the way I messed with them, please fix them to suit your taste. —Viriditas | Talk 21:44, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remember to remove the cast info from the production section after you add the cast section. —Viriditas | Talk 21:53, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work. If you have any interest working on the lead section, I'm going to add some material that a bunch of editors have worked on (including myself) to the temp page. It needs sources, and verification. Some of it may even seem like original research, but that's ok, because we will identify it as such and replace it on the temp page. You are welcome to invite other editors to work on it, too. —Viriditas | Talk 03:43, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Post it here and I see if I can contribute. Basically, I'm keeping most of my eye on the talk and main page and doing additions and such from there. --Beanssnaeb 03:44, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I'll link to it from the talk page. The reason we use temp pages is to avoid edit wars on the main page. —Viriditas | Talk 03:50, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, if you get a chance, can you address Maria's (Yllosubmarine) question about the cast section on the main talk page? I have to log out. —Viriditas | Talk 15:08, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I posted my statements on the Discussion Page for CoM. Sorry I wasn't able to post them last night (electrical outtage in my area).Arcayne 19:03, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I'd let you know that i appreciate you stepping in to calm the waters a bit. Viriditas is one of those types who makes me simply shake my head in dismay.
I thought I would point out that in the melded statement, you lumped the thematic components together with the pacing elements of the cinematography. The use of the extended shots creates not just a realism but an immediacy to events. That would seem to be a production choice as opposed to a thematic decision. I think that the melded statement addesses the production/cinematography appropriately, but I feel something more is perhaps needed to communicate the non-cinematography choices (ie, editing in the laughter of children and the words shantih shantih shantih at the end). I feel that there is a difference, and lumping them together confuses rather than summarizes the elements.Arcayne 18:04, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, sometimes we all don't see eye to eye, it happens. I've been adding to the temp page, hopefully to address your concerns so keep an eye on it. --Beanssnaeb 18:23, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
