Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:28, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Firstly, I apologize for my negligence and I will not repeat the same mistake again. My account has been blocked because Wikipedia determines that the account appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. For the same reason, the page created was deleted. The username also violated the username policy. To rectify the issue, I would like to request to change the username to beddingguru. My intention was to write a biography about Qbedding, including when the company was founded and the products. My goal to be part of Wikipedia community is to be able to contribute and share my knowledge about bedding products, textile fabrics, Chinese bedding, Chinese culture, and Chinese bedding stores and factories including Qbedding and other popular brands in China. My goal is to increase the knowledge of the community for those who are looking to learn more about the rich and exotic Chinese living style and culture. I ask if you will kindly unblock the account and restore the Qbedding page. Thank you and I apologize for any inconvenience.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. PhilKnight (talk) 18:34, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Diannaa (talk) 15:29, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a business directory. The deleted company's article, for example, briefly contained only significant milestones throughout its history and notable products. I have no intention of creating an exhaustive list of companies within the bedding industry nor listing upcoming events and promotions as that is not what Wikipedia is all about. I also understand the importance of conflict of interest as Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Each article must be unbiased or written neutrally without favoring one party over the other. Otherwise, it may influence the author's impartiality and cause a conflict of interest due to a clash between the author's self-interest and the public's interest. Lastly, I understand that the subject must be notable to be considered an encyclopedia article. Unlike the fashion industry, bedding industry has less publicity. The majority of consumers can easily mention their favorite clothing brands, but will take some time to think about their favorite bedding brands. Beyond thread counts and common fabric materials like cotton and polyester, there is a lack of information about the bedding industry and their available options. I want to share my knowledge as an insider of the bedding industry and add notable companies and brands available in US market and from overseas. This is of course by no means a business directory nor intended to be exhaustive, but rather for informative purpose and mentioning only the notable ones so consumers especially those who rely on Wikipedia can do their research and learn more about their own bedding beyond thread counts.

Furthermore, I'm requesting to change the username to beddingguru to follow Wikipedia's username policy. This violation is due to my negligence and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. I ask if you will kindly unblock the account and restore the Qbedding page. Thank you. --Qbeddinginc (talk) 14:13, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If it is reposted in it's current form, I'll delete on sight and block you again, since you are clearly still trying to promote the company despite the change in user name you were permitted. I would delete your article because

  • it does not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Most of the text is unsourced or sourced only to the company, not an independent source. Social media, like Facebook, is never acceptable as a reference. Also, you don't give any facts about the company that support notability. How many employees? Turnover? Profits? Basically it's just a sales pitch, just listing items you are trying to sell, with nothing factual about the company.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: specialized... prime retail locations... conveniently shop online... luxury comforters... made of 100% cotton... hiqh quality...— and so on
  • In what sense are things like the following encyclopaedic content: are displayed for customers to see and feel in-person... includes Milk Protein Silk Comforters, Jacquard Weave Mulberry Silk Comforters, Soybean Fiber Comforters, Tencel Comforters, and Australia Wool Comforters.
  • Not a reason for deletion, but nothing is Wikilinked, not even New York City

Despite having an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject, you are still writing about it in an unacceptable fashion. This is your last chance to write a neutral encyclopaedic article, and it's only because you had the sense to consult before posting that i haven't taken any action Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:34, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
