You added a few {{DSP}} links to articles, see for example this edit. I guess it was an accident on your part, as {{DSP}} did not belong there. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 20:58, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
External links
[edit]Hello. I'd appreciate it if you were a bit more selective in the external links you're adding. For instance, you added a link to the MathWorld page http://mathworld.wolfram.com/NewtonsDividedDifferenceInterpolationFormula.html to Newton polynomial (diff). However, the MathWorld page does not contain much useful information. Please read Wikipedia:External links for some further guidance. Cheers, Jitse Niesen (talk) 01:00, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
External links; possible COI
[edit]Hello,
I see your main recent activity seems to be adding links to what I assume to be your own webpages -- given that activity and your username, I take it you are John H. Mathews. It would probably be best to declare as much on your userpage. WP:SPA with potential WP:COI (should you refer to your own books, for instance) trigger a few red flags. In that case it seems perfectly benign, with potentially useful, freely accessible additions, but it would probably be best to familiarise yourself with the linked guidelines and keep them in mind, just in case. [edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Deacon Vorbis (talk) 18:33, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. — Anita5192 (talk) 18:44, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
