Welcome!

Hello, Biostream, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. I'm not writing a memorial article. Biostream (talk) 14:41, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Disappearance of Alessia and Livia Schepp. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Look, I'm really sorry, but with the information you provided, there is nothing that shows any notability to this case. It is, as far as we know, just (!) another typical custody dispute that swelled up into parental abduction. There are far too many of those for us to list them all. Again, I'm sorry. DS (talk) 15:25, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand notability... Why Disappearance of Edward and Austin Bryant is notable... Ah they are American people... Biostream (talk) 15:34, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It has nothing to do with their nationality, actually. It has to do with the amount of coverage the topic has gotten. In the article you created, you linked to one news article that basically just repeated some facts. In Disappearance of Edward and Austin Bryant, you'll notice that there was extensive news coverage by many news agencies. This means that case has notability; it has been recognized by reliable sources as important. Has the case you wrote about been covered and discussed that much? If so, you can try re-writing it with more evidence of its notability. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 15:39, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Unbelievable, I can not create the article and extend it in several times? I must create the article as extensive as is possible? I dont believe this is the policy of Wikipedia. Biostream (talk) 15:45, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Don't presume that someone who disagrees with you is American. DS (talk) 15:42, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • That article's subject is also probably not notable. I have put it up for PROD. Please see WP:NOTNEWS. We are not being American-centric here. Some articles get missed, and they should be deleted. The one you referred to actually WAS nominated for deletion, but continued because a lack of consensus.AstroCog (talk) 15:47, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note

[edit]

That's twice now that you've implied that my deletion was based on Americanism. I am not an American and never have been, and I expect an apology. Furthermore, every edit to an article must be able to stand on its own. We have no idea if you are going to add more material; for all we know, you intend to write two sentences and then ignore Wikipedia for three months. DS (talk) 15:49, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you think I am another people. This was my first article on enwiki. I never crossed words with you. Biostream (talk) 16:01, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok, maybe you count twice because I wrote here and in your UT, but it is the 'same' time, and the same topic, I wanted to ensure you read my reply. Biostream (talk) 16:04, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You also said it in this edit summary. Please try to understand that we're not operating out of any prejudice here; we simply want to make sure that Wikipedia articles meet Wikipedia's standards. It's not helpful for you to accuse people of not operating in good faith. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 16:09, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If this case is notable or not I can not talk about it because I don't know well the Wikipedia policies. I thought this case would be able to appear on Wikipedia, when some day I would know more about the Swiss twins. I have read some article that I consider less important than this one.
I think that my first experience on Wikipedia in English is wrong. I thought I have more freedom to create and developp an article but I see that newbies are not really welcome. Biostream (talk) 16:17, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome to contribute if you can do it properly. DS (talk) 16:23, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Two things:

Anyways, let us know what you would like to do. –MuZemike 16:36, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If it is possible to move this deleted article to my user space, please do it and I'll work there. Biostream (talk) 17:19, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, I make it from zero. Biostream (talk) 18:14, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like another administrator got that done for you. If you have any questions, feel free to let me on my talk page, User talk:MuZemike, or someone else if I'm not around (which I won't be this weekend, unfortunately). –MuZemike 22:29, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm too newbie to edit on your talk page, I think I'll can edit on your page in two or three days. I'm new on WP in English, but I have a long experience in another small WP, and I can affirm, editing on enwiki is harder ;) (I understand why, and I agree the limits).
