[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added to the page Termite do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dekisugi (talk) 19:55, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Cockroach. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Dekisugi (talk) 19:58, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Bedbug. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Request reason:
I do not think that the link was inappropriate and that it added useful information to the page on bedbugs. This site listed is not a commercial site. I do understand the nofolow rule and am not spamming.
Decline reason:
Clear violation of our policies and guidelines on spamming and conflict-of-interest. Given your username, there's no doubt that you are linking to your own site and you received plenty of warnings that this was inappropriate. — Yamla (talk) 20:16, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
{{unblock|I did not know that it would not be allowed to reference my own site and received only a block without any warining whatsoever. Yes, I am the webmmaster of the site bobthebugman.com which is a non commercial site that has extensive information articles on many insects and tips for controlling them. While I do beleive that this information would be useful as cited external links n wikipedia, I had no intention of spamming the wikipedia. I use and love the wikipedia regularly and was only hoping to offer my own contributions. I have not received any warnings prior to being blocked. I believe this is a unfortunate misunderstanding. Should you find it in your heart to unblock me, I will promise to never include an external link to my own website. I do however, wish to contribute my own knowledge and experience to the wikipedia when possible. I apologize for the mistake made.}}
You did actually receive multiple warnings before being blocked. Note, though, that the block is only for 24 hours so even if the other reviewing admin declines your unblock, you will be free to edit tomorrow. --Yamla (talk) 21:02, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
You may also want to check out Wikipedia:Business' FAQ which gives a bit of information which may be useful in the future. --Yamla (talk) 21:03, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
One final note, it is appropriate to bring up your website on the article's discussion page, suggesting that it may be useful, while also disclosing that you are the webmaster. If other editors agree, they may add your site to the article. So long as you disclose your relationship to the website and only mention it on the talk page (instead of adding it directly to the article), this is in no way a violation. --Yamla (talk) 21:09, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
