There are two Carver High Schools in Maryland currently operating, and several more former schools that may soon have articles

I'm not so sure moving George Washington Carver High School (Rockville, Maryland) to George Washington Carver High School (Maryland) was such a great idea. There is another current high school, although the name varies slightly, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology. There are also several other George Washington Carver High Schools in Maryland that don't yet have articles, including George Washington Carver High School of Cecil County, Maryland, George Washington Carver High School of Great Mills, Maryland, and George Washington Carver High School of Cumberland, Maryland. These schools are all African-American schools that were demoted to lower grades or closed when the Federal Government forced the state of Maryland to allow Black children to go to school with White children. There were an astonishing number of schools across the country named after George Washington Carver.
In any case, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology is a high school and as such is often confused with the George Washington Carver High School in Rockville. I hope to write articles for at least some of the Black schools in the near future. I'm worried this rename will just make things more confusing in the future. Hi! Thanks for catching this. I messed up. I was doing this for a bunch of Montgomery County schools, and neglected to check for this particular school if there were other schools with the same name. Now I see there are! I have undone the page move, so the title includes Rockville now, as it should. Thanks again. br7ndn (talk | tribs) 04:34, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I hate to be a bother. There are sooooo many Carver's, back in the day of segregated schools it seems like there was one in every county of some Southern states - of course, due to the nature of that beast references are often non-existent or suppressed, so most of them are forgotten.
