A page you started (List of shared parenting legislation) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating List of shared parenting legislation.

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Copying information from Legiscan appears to violate their terms of use, and thus it needs to be removed. In addition to being a copyright violation, most of that content is best rewritten in Wikipedia's voice anyway. Additionally, I'm adding a TOC limit template to make the table of contents easier to use, at the expense of making it less detailed.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Rosguill}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

@Rosguill:

Thank you for your review. I was unaware that quoting Legiscan was a violation of their terms of use, and I would be happy to replace all that information with a paraphrased version. This well take time, however. Also I appreciate the TOC limit, I am new to Wikipedia and don't know all the tricks yet, but that makes it look better. Brandon.norman, regarding the quotes, it's a bit of a gray area––you can quote sources, but in this case you were quoting their entire summaries (including some legal jargon that doesn't belong in a Wikipedia article anyway) as summaries, which IMO crosses a line from quoting to copying outright, which is prohibited by their terms of use. signed, Rosguill talk 17:04, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Rosguill: I have updated the section we talked about. I'm unaware if you wanted to be notified. If you would like, please review at your leisure. Brandon.norman (talk) 20:04, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Americans for Equal Shared Parenting, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
