This account, BrendaS195, has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because your username does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:44, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright, conflict of interest and other concerns

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.

There are several issues I'd like to go over with you with respect to Wikipedia's policies, particularly concerning copyright, conflict of interest and usernames.

First, as regards copyright, I note that you added to content to Kultur International Films which was taken with minimal alterations from [1]. Even if you are the copyright holder and in position to release this text under allowable license on Wikipedia, we cannot accept previously published text without verification of that. The verification procedures are explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. In short, if you are willing to co-license the text under creative contents attribution share-alike 3.0 and Gnu Free Documentation licenses, we can use your text, but these licenses mean that you are authorizing modifications to the text and reuse of it elsewhere, including commercially. The only right you retain is the right to attribution for your text, though you also can rest assured that downstream users can't place additional restrictions. Among the licensing requirements is that the material must remain perpetually free.

However, even if you verify this donation, there are issues with copying content from official sites into Wikipedia. Wikipedia's content is meant to be neutral and verifiable through reliable, published sources. Primary sources that are closely connected to their subjects are not ideal for the encyclopedia's purposes. Moreover, we request that individuals who are closely connected to the subject of an article refrain from editing that article under most circumstances, in accordance with the conflict of interest guideline (read more at Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations). Even if you have the best of intentions, adding material describing the subject as "the leading source of world class performing arts titles" is going to be perceived as promotional. Unless it is sourced to a reliable, independent source, such statements are not likely to be left in articles for long, and their presence may lead to the application of some very visible and very unattractive "warning" labels to the article, like Template:COI or Template:Advert. Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance contains some good advice for avoiding these problems.

Finally, I'm afraid that the username you have selected is a problem under the username rules (please see WP:ORGNAME). Accordingly, I have blocked this account, as the notice above advises. You are more than welcome to register for a new account with a compliant username. If you have questions about the process or about any of the other material in this note, you are welcome to come by my talk page for clarification once you have a new account (you can reach me by following the "talk" after my own username) or, if you have not yet registered a new account, you can place your questions here with {{helpme}} immediately above or below them (brackets and all), and a volunteer will stop by to see if he or she can lend a hand.

Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:47, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Allowing username change to GraphicsDPT (talk · contribs). Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking.

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Please be sure that this account is not used by more than one person. I'm a little concerned that your new name of choice may suggest that it is a "department." --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:45, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request at WP:CHU or WP:CHU/U needs your attention

[edit]

Hello, there! A clerk or bureaucrat that participates in the requests for username changes or the usurpations requests area has recently replied to your request for such change and is requesting your input. Please make sure you reply as soon as possible; requests with pending input-petitions that languish for more than a few days will be automatically declined by a bureaucrat. If you need more help, please feel free to contact me or ask for further explanation at the requests page. Thank you for your time and attention. —Duncan (that's me!)What I Do / What I Say 13:54, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
