Movie Filler

[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Movie Filler, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Movie Filler. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi. I see that you have removed the deletion tag. (Which you have every right to do) Nevertheless, I believe that the article should still be deleted for a number of reasons. First, as I said in my deletion rationale, the article is constructed as an advertisement for your website. We try to avoid such conflicts of interest. Moreover, the website in question does not seem to meet our guideline for inclusion of web-related content. You also claim that "movie filler" is becoming increasingly used in that sense. Frankly, I'm not convinced: judging by my search on Google, this is not widely used as you claim. Even if it was, then that would probably not be worth a Wikipedia article and would be best suited for Wiktionary.

A tag has been placed on Handbago requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Louis Vuitton. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Wperdue (talk) 12:31, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Tory Burch. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. Wperdue (talk) 12:33, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
