September 2018

[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Ravi Shankar (poet), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Discuss your mass removal of content and obtain WP:CONSENSUS for it on the article's Talk page. General Ization Talk 22:10, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I provided a valid reason in the edit summary. This is a PAID JOB TO EDIT. This is WHITEWASHING which ScrapIronIV reverted many times throughout the history if you check that. He would have done reverted, but he hasn't made any edits since September 21. What else do you need to know? Bulkreg (talk) 22:18, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I don't need to know anything. You need to make a case for your removal of content and obtain consensus for it on the article's Talk page. We don't allow anyone to just come along, create a brand new account, and strip out 25% of an article's content, including sourced content, without discussing it with other editors. If other editors concur and a consensus is reached, that's just dandy. General Ization Talk 22:24, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's the version that I restored at 19:04, 22 September 2018. That's the version before Editor General of Wiki came along and started subtly placing his edits that were added times before. Check out this and this which is the edit you reverted to btw and compare them to edits after 19:04, 22 September 2018 and you will understand what is under the hood. Maybe you didn't hear me. You need to discuss on the article's Talk page, not with me here. And the fact that another editor has added sourced content to the article since an earlier edition was restored does not mean that the content should automatically be removed. The version you linked to is not the "preferred" version of the article, as the encyclopedia has no "preference". The only process by which that can be determined is through consensus, and I don't see you trying to obtain it. General Ization Talk 22:46, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, what is/are the username(s) of your previous Wikipedia account(s)? General Ization Talk 22:48, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus was reached regarding whitewashing the article long ago. There is nothing new to discuss on the article's talk page. Check Criminal convictions section and its content for example and how it was changed now under Controversies. You need to check the talk page of the article and its history. And I never said it's the preferred version since it was the one restored. It's the one since Editor General of Wiki came along and started placing the removed content in a more subtle way. Bulkreg (talk) 22:55, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That conversation is taking place now at the article's Talk page. What is/are the username(s) of your previous Wikipedia account(s)? General Ization Talk 11:47, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
