Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Mistaken ID as known troll

Request handled by: Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 07:16, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've asked the blocking admin to comment. - auburnpilot talk 02:47, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Unless there's something I'm missing here like a sockpuppet relation, I'd recommend an unblock here. The edits made do resemble test edits and he did revert himself - in fact, he still has the top edit to John von Neumann. No warnings were given, and as things go, this vandalism was incredibly harmless for an immediate indef block. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:54, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I just unblocked your account.
When you first edited, the particulars of where and when seemed like a known problem editor I've been dealing with on and off, but on review after your unblock request, I think I goofed on that.
As noted above and below, test edits aren't great, but we don't block people for them. As I believe I made an error earlier, I would like to apologize for the overreaction. We have to protect Wikipedia from some people who abuse it, and some of those abusers are very nasty people, but when we goof and do something like this to an innocent experimenting new user it's always a bad thing. I hope you stick around and can contribute some useful new materials to the encyclopedia. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 07:16, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Just wanted to chime in here and welcome you to Wikipedia. I'm sorry that you got off to a rocky start here, but I'm confident that this will be resolved pretty quickly; George may have clicked a wrong button or something. It can happen sometimes, you don't have to be perfect to edit Wikipedia. In the future, though, please use the Wikipedia:Sandbox for editing tests. If you have any questions or need any help, you can visit Wikipedia:Help desk or place {{helpme}} and your question on this page, and someone will come along to help.
