Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. This is a message to let you know that your username, "CYBER E-SPORTS OFFICIAL", may not comply with Wikipedia's username policy. Please note that the following types of usernames are prohibited:

  • Promotional usernames: Those that match the name of a company, organization, group, website or product (e.g. "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", "Foobar Museum of Art"). However, you are allowed to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally (e.g. "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "FoobarFan87").
  • Usernames implying shared use: Those that directly imply shared access between people (e.g. "Jack and Jill's Account"), or match names of posts within groups or organizations (e.g. "Secretary of the XY Foundation").
  • Misleading usernames: Those that contain suffixes like "bot" or "script" and imply an account is that of an automated bot when it is not, or titles like "admin" or "sysop" (implying a position of authority), or match names of living people that you are not, such as famous living people. If you are a famous person editing under your real name and your account is blocked from editing, please note that this is not to discourage you from editing, but rather to prevent any potentially damaging impersonation of you.
  • Offensive and disruptive usernames: Those that contain words or phrases that are likely to offend other contributors, directly threaten or attack another person or some entity, contain contentious material about living persons, or otherwise imply you do not intend to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia (e.g. "JohnIsAJerk", "WannabeWikipediaVandal").

For more information, see Wikipedia's username policy.

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, website, person or other entity, nor do we tolerate any other 'bad faith' editing such as trolling, vandalism or other disruptive behavior, regardless of your username. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. If you do not understand which part of the policy your username may be violating, please don't hesitate to ask. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 04:47, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not write about your own company

[edit]

While writing about your own company is not prohibited per se it is very much frowned upon. See WP:Conflict of interest and WP:Paid editing disclosure for details.

Unless your company meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, it cannot have an article about it. See WP:Notability for more details.

Also, you should not use your user page to advertise. First off, user pages aren't indexed by most search engines, and second off, using your user page for this purpose is likely to result in it being deleted as "spam." See WP:User page, WP:What Wikipedia is not, and WP:Criteria for speedy deletion for details. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 04:52, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:53, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am a new user and i don't know much about Wikipedia policy so i am still learning about many things. CYBER E-SPORTS OFFICIAL (talk) 06:03, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

The "Chief" portion of your username would suggest that this is a role account or account associated with a position. Accounts must only be used by a single individual and should only be accessed by that individual; successors to your position will need to create their own accounts. As such, your choice of new username is not acceptable, please choose something more individualistic. (your real name is not required) Please review WP:PROMO, WP:COI, and WP:PAID, all policies you did not comply with, and describe what was incorrect about your edits and what you will edit about in the future that is unrelated to your conflict of interest. If your only goal here is to edit about your organization, this is the end of the road for your Wikipedia career. YOu won't be unblocked to edit about it in the short term. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:11, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
