Welcome

[edit]

Hi Cacuija, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for joining the coolest online encyclopedia I know of. I hope you stick around. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. Check out the simplified ruleset. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines.

  1. Write from a neutral point of view
  2. Be bold in editing pages
  3. Use wikiquette.

Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.

Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me on my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. Alternatively you can place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing 4 tildes like ~~~~. Always sign the talk page, never the articles.

Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing!--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-|) 04:46, 21 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

McLaren was (and probably still is) a situationist. He tried to take place in the Paris '68 "correction" but was unable to. If anything he is a minor footnote to SI history, but he was instrumental in bringing awareness of that group to dumb kids (like myself). I did some work on his article just now, but I will leave the SI article as it is. I would like to know, however, why it has a cleanup tag on it. Vegan Reich and Anarcho-punk category

[edit]

I saw you take Vegan Reich out of the anarcho-punk category--good move! I just felt like being randomly nice, always good to do that. If I had seen that they were in the category I would have removed it myself. Thanks for noticing. Ungovernable ForceGot something to say? 05:29, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Passive house images

[edit]

The category is currently small as the images have only recently been added, but it may grow over time as other images or translated images are added. While all except one of the images are currently used in a single article, this may change over time (due to substitution of other images or their use in other articles), so it provides a convenient way or keeping them together, especially as images are very difficult to search.

The name of the category and the associated article is an interesting question, as both the original German and translated versions are used, with the added complication of confusion with passive solar houses / buildings (Passive house was at one time erroneously merged with what is now Passive solar building design, for example). I have just answered the comments. --Tonyjeff 16:00, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sustainability wikis

[edit]

I noticed (when I was searching for sustainability wiki in Wikipedia) that you have listed the Development and Sustainability Wikia and Appropedia "wiki about Appropiate Technologies" under To read.

Just thought I'd let you know that things have changed - Appropedia is much broader, being the main sustainability wiki online as well as the main international development wiki. Several wikis, including the Development and Sustainability Wikia and also WikiGreen and Village Earth's wiki, have merged into Appropedia. It's growing. We'd love to develop some Spanish language content, so please have a look and consider contributing. (Of course if you choose to focus on Wikipedia, that's also very good.) --Chriswaterguy talk 09:44, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
